Anyone have something to share?
1 The king rejoices in your strength, Lord.
How great is his joy in the victories you give!
2 You have granted him his heart’s desire
and have not withheld the request of his lips.
3 You came to greet him with rich blessings
and placed a crown of pure gold on his head.
4 He asked you for life, and you gave it to him—
length of days, for ever and ever.
5 Through the victories you gave, his glory is great;
you have bestowed on him splendor and majesty.
6 Surely you have granted him unending blessings
and made him glad with the joy of your presence.
7 For the king trusts in the Lord;
through the unfailing love of the Most High
he will not be shaken.
8 Your hand will lay hold on all your enemies;
your right hand will seize your foes.
9 When you appear for battle,
you will burn them up as in a blazing furnace.
The Lord will swallow them up in his wrath,
and his fire will consume them.
10 You will destroy their descendants from the earth,
their posterity from mankind.
11 Though they plot evil against you
and devise wicked schemes, they cannot succeed.
12 You will make them turn their backs
when you aim at them with drawn bow.
13 Be exalted in your strength, Lord;
we will sing and praise your might.
Prayer for wisdom as I contemplate a request by our church’s worship leader regarding serving as leader of the strings group and meeting with the worship leader and brass group leader 3 or 4 times a year to discuss worship themes and brainstorm new ways to incorporate music into worship.
Thanks.

Please pray. My closest friend and her husband are coming over very soon to talk to us about the call to Boise. I’m pretty sure they’re coming to tell us that they’re going. I’m pretty agitated right now and very sad. Please pray I can be the person they need me to be. Thanks.

Jo, the music aspect of it would almost certainly bring joy. And leading any strings-only rehearsals we might have would be enjoyable, too.
What I need to find out, though, is whether being the “strings leader” would involve scheduling rehearsals, contacting people, waiting for them to get back to me, etc. Been there, done that, and it has been frustrating when lack of communication turns into time-wasting because of repeatedly trying to get answers that aren’t forthcoming. I have little patience for that, so would not be a good candidate for the position if that’s part of what is involved.

Thanks. I held it together. They’ll leave by the end of September. Sigh. To God be the glory.

Michelle, it is so hard to say goodbye, whether as the one leaving or the one “sending.” May God give your heart peace and the ability to send them off well.

I am cutting it close with this request… Please pray for First Baptist today. They are having a meeting this afternoon at 5 to discuss whether or not a divorced man can serve as a deacon.
I’m not sure who is on which side and I don’t have a dog in the fight, but I can see the dangers ahead on either side.
