Prayer Requests 7-17-19

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajissun and the folks in The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 135

Praise the Lord.

   Praise the name of the Lord;
    praise him, you servants of the Lord,
you who minister in the house of the Lord,
    in the courts of the house of our God.

Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good;
    sing praise to his name, for that is pleasant.
For the Lord has chosen Jacob to be his own,
    Israel to be his treasured possession.

I know that the Lord is great,
    that our Lord is greater than all gods.
The Lord does whatever pleases him,
    in the heavens and on the earth,
    in the seas and all their depths.
He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth;
    he sends lightning with the rain
    and brings out the wind from his storehouses.

He struck down the firstborn of Egypt,
    the firstborn of people and animals.
He sent his signs and wonders into your midst, Egypt,
    against Pharaoh and all his servants.

10 He struck down many nations
    and killed mighty kings—
11 Sihon king of the Amorites,
    Og king of Bashan,
    and all the kings of Canaan—
12 and he gave their land as an inheritance,
    an inheritance to his people Israel.

13 Your name, Lord, endures forever,
    your renown, Lord, through all generations.
14 For the Lord will vindicate his people
    and have compassion on his servants.

15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold,
    made by human hands.
16 They have mouths, but cannot speak,
    eyes, but cannot see.
17 They have ears, but cannot hear,
    nor is there breath in their mouths.
18 Those who make them will be like them,
    and so will all who trust in them.

19 All you Israelites, praise the Lord;
    house of Aaron, praise the Lord;
20 house of Levi, praise the Lord;
    you who fear him, praise the Lord.
21 Praise be to the Lord from Zion,
    to him who dwells in Jerusalem.

   Praise the Lord.

  1. Husband and daughter headed off earlier today. She catches a flight home to husband and son, with a sixteen hour layover. A typhoon warning is out, so she is hoping her flights won’t be messed with much. Safe travels and easing back into family life for her. Thanks.

  2. Daughter is safely deposited. Glad to be there early and not rushed. Husband may make it home today though I predict a long nap mid drive.

  3. As I alluded to yesterday, there are some stressful situations we are facing, and the stress and anxiety are beginning to press in on us. I am trying to release it all to God, and to trust Him to see us through these things. (Wisdom as to how to proceed in one particular area is definitely needed, and soon.) But Nightingale does not have faith, and I could tell in the way she was reacting to Boy earlier this evening that she is feeling the stress more acutely. (Not that it doesn’t often feel pretty acute to me, too.)

    Please pray for. . .

    . . . this stress and pressure to draw Nightingale to finally surrender her heart and life to Jesus,
    . . .wisdom where we need it,
    . . .provision,
    . . .things to go well in court next month (the custody case), and. . .
    . . .wisdom for the doctors who will be assessing Boy for autism (tomorrow).

    And of course, also for salvation for Chickadee and Boy. (I could use prayer, too. I am feeling overwhelmed.)

    Thank you.
