Prayer Requests 6-20-19

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 119:121-128

ע Ayin

121 I have done what is righteous and just;
    do not leave me to my oppressors.
122 Ensure your servant’s well-being;
    do not let the arrogant oppress me.
123 My eyes fail, looking for your salvation,
    looking for your righteous promise.
124 Deal with your servant according to your love
    and teach me your decrees.
125 I am your servant; give me discernment
    that I may understand your statutes.
126 It is time for you to act, Lord;
    your law is being broken.
127 Because I love your commands
    more than gold, more than pure gold,
128 and because I consider all your precepts right,
    I hate every wrong path.

  1. I am requesting general prayer for me overall.
    I am currently peaceful about surgery next week. Work is good. Life is good. Something is niggling at me and I can’t identify it. I always feel on constant alert for what is coming next. Quite frankly I think it may be a “growth spurt”.

  2. Prayer for a friend who is off to China for a few weeks. She goes every year. She appreciates prayer support but prefers great caution in emails. She has developed friendships over the years as she seeks to share the Love.

  3. Taturu is the name of a widely-dispersed indigenous population located in the Great Rift Valley of Tanzania. They are often referred to as the Datooga (or Tatooga) and number about 14,000. The Taturu are an ethnically proud people with a reputation as fierce warriors. They are resistant to cultural change, including belief in Christianity, maintaining a strong adherence to traditional animist beliefs and practices and worshipping their god called Geriwishi. Most do not speak Swahili and are illiterate, so communication of the Gospel is best in their own language using oral methods of storytelling and songs.

    Please pray…
    Pray for communities where there is no Bible or Christian witness.
    Pray for the Evangelical churches to grow in biblical truth and be willing to reach other areas.
    Pray for the strongholds of witchcraft and ancestral worship to be broken. According to local believers, spiritual darkness is limiting growth in this region.

  4. This is a long-shot, but here goes. . .

    I am going to be sending Chickadee an email, asking her if she would consider childsitting with me just one day a week for the summer, mainly for keeping us company and playing with The Boy (they have certain games they enjoy playing together sometimes when she visits). The summer can seem to drag on, so having her company once a week would be a nice diversion. We will be offering to pay her for the day, too, and I think she could use the money.

    It’d already be a long-shot for her to agree, but then added to that is that she would have to spend the night before since Nightingale leaves a little past 6:30am for work, too early to have time to go out to pick her up. (Unless Chickadee could actually get a ride out here in the morning, even later morning, but I wouldn’t hold my breath hoping for that.)

    Anyway. . .please pray that she would be amenable to this idea, and that if she isn’t, I won’t feel too disappointed. Thank you.

  5. Prayers for the above. I want everything to go well for you all on this site in your lives and the lives of your families and friends. Things are not the best for me right now, but I praise God that I am fairly content. I think I am understanding my brother’s concern over how we spend money is probably because he only has the part time work with Art and maybe he is afraid Art won’t be able to keep him employed since we have the other full time worker now. God is good to show me how to have compassion for people when at first their actions or words seem to be hurtful. Thanking God for His shared wisdom in times of need.
