I’ll post later on the “Politics” thread, but I watched Trump last night. I don’t see how any of the democrats can compete with that. He creates excitement among his followers.
Morning, Chas. Got lots of little things done today, including going to the clinic for a flu shot. They posted that the flu is rampant in Australia and wanted anyone going there to have a flu shot.
Can you believe we’re in the second half of June and almost to official summer?!
Someone posted this little image on Flickr that I thought was cute (she put it as part of a “picture” made of text bits, with this part in there several times to represent flying birds): ⁀˅⁀

The sun is shining but the temps are still chilly…furnace is on. ‘Tis a day to get out there and pull up some weeds! The deer are meandering about the property (why oh why can’t they just eat weeds!?), the hummingbirds are draining their feeders and the robins appear to be very thirsty sitting around the bird bath….such a pretty day around here! It’s sooo green with lots of wildflowers dotting the landscape…..
How long did he take to say that, Chas? 🙂 Last Trump “rally” I watched went on and on and on and on. He riffs repeatedly and spontaneously. It can be sort of mesmerizing but sitting through it once is usually enough. 🙂
He spent lots of time recognizing people. Politicians like that.
I see where he plans to tweet answers to the Democratic debate.
I have often said that his mouth runs ahead of his brain, but I’ll have to admit:’
The man is smart.
I’ve been back east a few times but itt was always either in winter or around March or so — when it still looks pretty much like winter with the trees still bare and snow still falling.
I tuned into Trump’s speech on Facebook Live for the first part. Miss Bosley did not depart from hearing it as she does when she does not like something. I suppose he has her endorsement early on. Trump did keep putting feathers in his hat for all of his accomplishments which I might not tolerate from someone else, but when so many news sources have nothing nice to say, I felt it was good news to share. I was wishing to hear more glory given to God. The new campaign slogan was chosen by applause and cheers between MAGA and KAG (Keep America Great) with the later winning in volume. I had to stop listening when Art got home. I had to cook liver. We all have our priorities.😀
Kizzie, in regard to our closing yesterday, on your FB discussion: I was reading 1 Timothy this morning and you came to mind, especially: 1 Tim 6: 3-5
If anyone advocates a different doctrine and does not agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness, he is conceited and understands nothing; but he has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words, out of which arise envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions, and constant friction between men of depraved mind and deprived of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain.
That (@1:18) highlights, for all of us, the importance of humility and maintaining a give-and-take spirit. I still remember softly questioning a Christian (yes, I believe she is) FB friend’s position in support of gay marriage some years ago.
Soon, one of her friends (whom I don’t know) swooped in and began badgering me. I ignored it, but noticed she kept on, badgering and badgering, finally posting that since I hadn’t responded I must now realize, of course, that I was in the wrong.
What upset me most, though, was the fact that my original friend never jumped in to calm the waters. She didn’t have to agree with me, but she could have called off her attack dog. 🙂
I believe I finally responded, apologizing of sorts by saying I didn’t mean for this to cause such discord; I did not know this “friend” of my friend and felt it was inappropriate to get into a public back-and-forth with her when she was clearly so angry.
The following day, I put up my own post simply quoting Proverbs 15:1 — “A soft answer turns away wrath.”
My (original) friend spotted it and commented: “I wonder what you’re referring to” 🙂 That helped, but I still felt she should have done something to throw some cold water on her “friend.” 🙂 sheesh.
I remember I was on my way home from work after the initial exchange with my *real* friend; when I stopped at the grocery store, I noticed my phone kept dinging and dinging and dinging as this other person, whom I didn’t know at all, added comment after comment, basically berating me and the idea that gay marriage could ever possibly be wrong.
Actually when this school began they were on the Australian calendar. Then, a number of years ago they realized that most of the students were from the northern hemisphere so they switched the school year around to being in July.

I’ve been back east a few times but itt was always either in winter or around March or so — when it still looks pretty much like winter with the trees still bare and snow still falling.

It is quite beautiful back there. Lots of hardwood and softwood trees, lots of brush. Quite lush but different from the southeast.

All my friend would have had to do was acknowledge that there is a difference of opinion among some Christians on the issue.
Then again, I didn’t know the other person, maybe she’s just a bully and would have taken even something like that in a poor and angry spirit as well.
