Prayer Requests 5-15-19

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajissun and the folks in The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 102

Hear my prayer, Lord;
    let my cry for help come to you.
Do not hide your face from me
    when I am in distress.
   Turn your ear to me;
    when I call, answer me quickly.

For my days vanish like smoke;
    my bones burn like glowing embers.
My heart is blighted and withered like grass;
    I forget to eat my food.
In my distress I groan aloud
    and am reduced to skin and bones.
I am like a desert owl,
    like an owl among the ruins.
I lie awake; I have become
    like a bird alone on a roof.
All day long my enemies taunt me;
    those who rail against me use my name as a curse.
For I eat ashes as my food
    and mingle my drink with tears
10 because of your great wrath,
    for you have taken me up and thrown me aside.
11 My days are like the evening shadow;
    I wither away like grass.

12 But you, Lord, sit enthroned forever;
    your renown endures through all generations.
13 You will arise and have compassion on Zion,
    for it is time to show favor to her;
    the appointed time has come.
14 For her stones are dear to your servants;
    her very dust moves them to pity.
15 The nations will fear the name of the Lord,
    all the kings of the earth will revere your glory.
16 For the Lord will rebuild Zion
    and appear in his glory.
17 He will respond to the prayer of the destitute;
    he will not despise their plea.

18 Let this be written for a future generation,
    that a people not yet created may praise the Lord:
19 “The Lord looked down from his sanctuary on high,
    from heaven he viewed the earth,
20 to hear the groans of the prisoners
    and release those condemned to death.”
21 So the name of the Lord will be declared in Zion
    and his praise in Jerusalem
22 when the peoples and the kingdoms
    assemble to worship the Lord.

23 In the course of my life he broke my strength;
    he cut short my days.
24 So I said:
   “Do not take me away, my God, in the midst of my days;
    your years go on through all generations.
25 In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth,
    and the heavens are the work of your hands.
26 They will perish, but you remain;
    they will all wear out like a garment.
   Like clothing you will change them
    and they will be discarded.
27 But you remain the same,
    and your years will never end.
28 The children of your servants will live in your presence;
    their descendants will be established before you.”

  1. Today for the 30 days of prayer for Muslims it is the Afar people of the Horn of Africa (Djibouti, Ethiopia, and Eritrea). The Afar are traditionally herdspeople and warriors. Drought and war in the Horn of Africa have forced them into slums. The Holy Spirit has begun working in their hearts. Pray for unity of the believers and that the Spirit would continue the good work he has begun in them. Pray that more and more of these herdpeople might come to know the good Shepherd and that he would lead them to green pastures and still waters.

  2. Please pray for Miguel as he is off to do his 1st clinical rotation for his EMT class. It is a 12 hour shift and he has been off for almost a year and 9 months.

    Please pray for me as I have been short with everyone with working so many shifts and not sleeping well at night due to not breathing well. I think things will go better once I hear one way or the other on my nursing school application. They called yesterday requesting a 3rd official transcript from ENMU Ruidoso to be sent, which reflect the courses I just completed. I waz informed that they do not accept any credits from a transcript that shows courses in progress. That caused all of the courses I took last semester to not be considered up to this point. Have you ever heard of anything like that? That is another certified letter that I must send this work. They have obviously never heard of productivity or re-work. And now you have a glaring example of my poor attitude. Prayers please!

  3. Thank you, Father God, for listening to all we ask of You daily. Help us to be patient as You work out Your best plans for each lifted need. You are our always awesome God, above all other powers and authorities. Please keep the military and all honorable world leaders safe during these evil days. Please change the hearts of dishonorable leaders. May many salvations be the result of increased spiritual warfare during this Ramadan. You have Your divine ways. I ask that You do whatever it takes to open the floodgates to salvation before it is too late for those who are on the fence and tarrying to decide Jesus is Lord and Messiah. Especially, please, help Mumsee and Rkessler in this time of great need. I pray in Jesus’ righteous name, Amen

  4. My Dad was sent to the ER by his Dr. yesterday for a racing heart. They ran tests, he said he felt fine and expected to go home this morning. But test results showed issues so he had a catherization this morning instead. Prayer for his health and salvation would be appreciated.

    Thanks.
