Prayer Requests 3-12-19

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 39

I said, “I will watch my ways
    and keep my tongue from sin;
   I will put a muzzle on my mouth
    while in the presence of the wicked.”
So I remained utterly silent,
    not even saying anything good.
   But my anguish increased;
3 my heart grew hot within me.
   While I meditated, the fire burned;
    then I spoke with my tongue:

“Show me, Lord, my life’s end
    and the number of my days;
    let me know how fleeting my life is.
You have made my days a mere handbreadth;
    the span of my years is as nothing before you.
   Everyone is but a breath,
    even those who seem secure.

“Surely everyone goes around like a mere phantom;
    in vain they rush about, heaping up wealth
    without knowing whose it will finally be.

“But now, Lord, what do I look for?
    My hope is in you.
Save me from all my transgressions;
    do not make me the scorn of fools.
I was silent; I would not open my mouth,
    for you are the one who has done this.
10 Remove your scourge from me;
    I am overcome by the blow of your hand.
11 When you rebuke and discipline anyone for their sin,
    you consume their wealth like a moth—
    surely everyone is but a breath.

12 “Hear my prayer, Lord,
    listen to my cry for help;
    do not be deaf to my weeping.
   I dwell with you as a foreigner,
    a stranger, as all my ancestors were.
13 Look away from me, that I may enjoy life again
    before I depart and am no more.”

  1. I am having a hard time today. I have been working on being positive and I have been taking my medication. I am feeling pressure, stress, and general unhappiness. Nothing I can point to and say THAT is the reason I feel this way. I go to the endocrinologist on April 3rd.

  2. Pray for my neighbors, he goes in for out-patient surgery in about 20 minutes — a hernia repair and possibly appendix removal, but he’s in his 70s and there is always that concern that something more serious will be found. That’s not expected in this case, but still, always a stressful thing to go through. And I know his wife is stressing over it. Recovery from surgery also isn’t pleasant, although it sounds like incisions may be minimal in this case.

  3. Praying with you, DJ.

    As I was praying for Kim this morning, I was reminded of my goat analogy. All the ram could do was to call out to the shepherd to come help the ewe. As he called, he was looking toward the house. Often, that is all we can do: call out to the Shepherd. And that call gets a response.

  4. Please pray for Miguel and Trey as they are home midwifing goats. He had to pull one last night and it sounds like she prolapsed. I will deal with it when I get home after midnight tonight.

  5. Prayers for patience regarding my eyes. I have to tell Art when he gets home. Thanks for praying for Wesley’s safe travels. Praising God that he got home for Art’s birthday. And he carried me to the doctor this morning so Art did not have to carry me and miss more work.
