  1. Perhaps before Dems in the House start their own witch hunt, they should clean the criminals out of their own House.

I gave you a little taste of the corruption and crimes yesterday, along with mentioning a missing million. Well today it gets worse. A lot worse.

“Ocasio-Cortez and her puppet-master Chakrabarti Scandal #1: Admission of illegal control of a PAC supporting her candidacy

“Two separate but related scandals are rocking Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her puppet-master Saikat Chakrabarti — the man who recruited, trained, and financed her election victory, and who now is her chief of staff.

Scandal number one is well explained by Andrew Kerr of the Daily Caller News Foundation. In essence, federal campaign finance law allows donations larger than the $2,500 limit for contributions to actual campaigns if they are sent to a political action committee (PAC) but strictly forbids control of PACs by candidates or campaigns. There is strong evidence that Ocasio-Cortez and Chakrabarti controlled just such a PAC and may have made deliberate efforts to conceal that. The concealment would be a key issue in determining whether a civil penalty (fines) or criminal penalties (prison) would be in order if the violations are proven.

Because of the complexity of campaign finance law, the article explaining the situation is long. If you have the time, you should read the whole thing. Some key excerpts:

Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her chief of staff Saikat Chakrabarti obtained majority control of Justice Democrats PAC in December 2017, according to archived copies of the group’s website, and the two appear to retain their control of the group, according to corporate filings obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation. If the Federal Election Commission (FEC) finds that the New York Democrat’s campaign operated in affiliation with the PAC, which had raised more than $1.8 million before her June 2018 primary, it would open them up to “massive reporting violations, probably at least some illegal contribution violations exceeding the lawful limits,” former FEC commissioner Brad Smith said.”

    Here’s the detailed DC piece.

“Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and a top aide appear to control an outside PAC credited with being the central force behind her June 2018 primary victory.

One former Federal Election Commission member thinks there would be a “serious investigation” if a complaint were filed, noting that the probe could potentially result in civil penalties or even jail time for Ocasio-Cortez and her chief of staff.

A second former commissioner said there were possibly “multiple violations of federal campaign finance law.”

Justice Democrats ran campaigns for Ocasio-Cortez and 11 other Democrats, but the New York Democrat was the only one to win her general election.”

  2. That was scandal #1.

Here’s 2, and more on the missing million..

“Ocasio-Cortez and her puppet-master Chakrabarti Scandal #2: A million bucks is unaccounted for”

“Money raised from donors by two political action committees (at least one of them problematic) was mysteriously “transferred” to two private corporations (LLCs) controlled by Saikat Chakrabarti, the founder of Justice Democrats, the group that recruited, trained, and ran the campaign that got Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez elected to Congress. There is no record of those private corporations providing services in exchange for the donations, which raises the question of what was done with this money.

Alana Goodman writes in The Examiner:

Two political action committees founded by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s top aide funneled over $1 million in political donations into two of his own private companies, according to a complaint filed with the Federal Election Commission on Monday.

The cash transfers from the PACs — overseen by Saikat Chakrabarti, the freshman socialist Democrat’s chief of staff — run counter to her pledges to increase transparency and reduce the influence of “dark money” in politics.

Chakrabarti’s companies appear to have been set up for the sole purpose of obscuring how the political donations were used.

The arrangement skirted reporting requirements and may have violated the $5,000 limit on contributions from federal PACs to candidates, according to the complaint filed by the National Legal and Policy Center, a government watchdog group.

S.A. Miller of the Washington Times continues:

“These are not minor or technical violations. We are talking about real money here,” said Tom Anderson, director of NLPC’s Government Integrity Project. “In all my years of studying FEC reports, I’ve never seen a more ambitious operation to circumvent reporting requirements.”

He added that Ms. Ocasio-Cortez, New York Democrat, “has been quite vocal in condemning so-called dark money, but her own campaign went to great lengths to avoid the sunlight of disclosure.”

  3. And then things get worse yet.

The address given for all of these campaigns by Democrats involved all used the same address in the same state (not their own) in order to further hide the money.

“Rider University Dean Resigns Over Ban on Chick-fil-A in Defense of Company’s Christian Values

“I endeavor every day to do exactly what Chick-fil-A puts forward as its overarching corporate value””

“In the fall of 2018, Rider University in New Jersey surveyed students to find out which restaurant they would like to have on campus. Students preferred Chick-fil-A, but that choice was rejected by university leadership, which felt the company’s corporate values were insufficiently inclusive.

Chick-fil-A is a Christian owned company, which has often made it a a target of anger on the far left. At the heart of this issue, is the company’s embrace of traditional values as it relates to gay marriage.

Rider’s decision to reject the restaurant turned into a public relations challenge, and official talking points were issued for faculty. Cynthia Newman, dean of Rider’s College of Business, is a Christian and resigned her position as a matter of conscience.

Joshua Aminov of Campus Reform reports:

EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Dean resigns over school’s opposition to Chick-fil-A ‘corporate values’

Newman explained her reasoning to the faculty and staff of the College of Business in her Feb. 14 resignation announcement, a copy of which Campus Reform obtained exclusively. In the announcement, Newman recalled the university rejecting students wanting to bring a Chick-fil-A restaurant to campus because the fast-food chain’s “corporate values have not sufficiently progressed enough to align with those of Rider.”

“As some of you already know, I am a committed follower of Jesus Christ,” Newman says in her announcement. “As such, I endeavor every day to do exactly what Chick-fil-A puts forward as its overarching corporate value: to glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to me and to have a positive influence on all who come into contact with me.”

“Everything positive about me and everything I have ever achieved — whether in my personal or my professional life — that is viewed as being good, I fully attribute to God’s working in and through me,” the dean continued. “Anytime I am kind or patient or wise, it is a result of God’s goodness and mercy and my yielding to His presence in my life.”

Saying that she “felt as though I had been punched in the stomach,” Newman noted she met with “those in authority positions over me” about the school’s decision. She said she asked administrators to apologize for Rider’s statement about Chick-fil-A and its “corporate values.” But, she added, that didn’t happen. In fact, the school doubled down.”

  7. If you don’t think there’s an emergency on the southern border, you’re not paying attention.

“Drug bust in New York uncovers enough fentanyl to kill 2 million people

Border crisis deniers might have difficulty minimizing opioid threat.”

“The US Drug Enforcement Administration reported that a raid on a home in a sedate New York state neighborhood uncovered enough fentanyl to kill 2 million people.

Federal agents found five kilograms (just over 11 pounds) of fentanyl and six kilograms (13.2 pounds) of heroin Friday when they raided a fentanyl mill operating out of a home in Ardsley, the DEA said.

Five people who were arrested during the raid are facing several drug charges.

Braulio Mata, 31; Jose Garcia, 44; and 20-year-old Yarly Mendoza-Delorbe were charged with conspiracy and drug possession. Another suspect, Ramon Aracena Alfe, 47, is facing a possession charge. The fifth person, 32-year-old Dionell Duarte Hernandez, has been charged with possession and resisting arrest, officials said.

As one might suspect, the neighbors were clueless about what was occurring in the house.

“It’s shocking, it’s shocking and kind of scary and awful all at the same time,” said a neighbor.

Five people are now in custody and facing charges ranging from conspiracy and possession of heroin and fentanyl to resisting arrest.

Braulio Mata, Jose Garcia, and Yarly Mendoza-Delorbe lived at the house.

“I have been here for 11 years, nothing like that ever happened before.”

Neighbors tell us that they didn’t know their neighbors well but they said that they started renting the house a few months ago.

One resident told us that they did notice a lot of cars and coming and going but never suspected a large drug mill was operating on their street.

Border crisis deniers might have difficulty minimizing the impact of this toxic opioid on America’s population of young adults. For example, Arizona and other southwestern states bordering Mexico are a hot spot in the nation’s fentanyl crisis.”

  8. This is what DACA and Obama brought us. And yes, it’s an emergency to their victims.

“The full extent of how stupid our policy is on illegal aliens crossing into the country can be found on the front page Monday of the Washington Post.

I’m not sure the paper meant to make that point. But the story headlined “Fearing MS-13, police officers flee El Salvador” did it well enough.”

“This is the culture, and these are the people dumped into the U.S. by way of our current open border policy.

Border agents in the Rio Grande Valley sector of Texas, where there are more illegal alien apprehensions than anywhere else, send out regular notice that MS-13 gang members are coming into the U.S.

    In just this month:

Feb. 28: “Rio Grande City agents working near Roma, Texas, arrested a Salvadoran man after he entered the United States illegally. Record checks revealed he is a Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang member with an extensive criminal history in the state of New York…”

Feb. 26: “Rio Grande Valley Sector agents arrested a Mexican man near Edinburg, Texas. Record checks revealed the man is a member of the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang.”

Feb. 22: “[A]gents patrolling the local ranchlands near Sarita, Texas, arrested eight illegal aliens. During processing, agents noticed one of the subjects displayed several tattoos affiliated with the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang.”

Feb. 19: “Rio Grande Valley agents arrested an MS-13 and a Sureño gang member in separate incidents.”

Feb. 14: “Weslaco agents working in Hidalgo, Texas, apprehended a Salvadoran man after he entered the United States illegally. During processing, record checks revealed the man is a member of the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang.”

Feb. 11: “[A]gents from the Rio Grande City station, arrested five illegal aliens. While being processed, record checks for a Salvadoran man revealed he is a MS-13 gang member…”

Feb. 7: “[A]gents working near Progreso, Texas, arrested 16 illegal aliens after making their illegal entry into the United States. Record checks for a Honduran male revealed he is a member of the MS-13 gang with criminal history…”

This is in addition to the child molesters, drug dealers, and human traffickers frequently caught by agents at the border — and more importantly the ones not being caught because agents are tied up acting as babysitters instead of border enforcers. We’ll never know how many violent MS-13 criminals disappeared into the U.S. where they will go on to infest and ravage American schools and neighborhoods.”

  9. There is a very sad news situation in Baltimore. In December, a man and his daughter claimed that his wife (her step-mother) were killed by a panhandler she was attempting to give money to in the inner city. At the time, there was [additional] outrage over the crime in the city. Turns out they killed her and were trying to cover it up with the fake panhandler story.

  10. All I can say is that if I were a democrat, I would be careful about this impeachment thing.
They’re talking about a guy who takes a gun to a knife fight.

  11. MS13 gang members are most probably not part of the DACA or Dreamer programs, and MS13 has been here for years before either of those programs were established.

    According to Wikipedia:

“To qualify for DACA, applicants must meet the following major requirements, although meeting them does not guarantee approval:

*Have unlawful presence in United States after entering the country before their 16th birthday
*Have lived continuously in the United States since June 15, 2007
*Were under age 31 on June 15, 2012 (born on June 16, 1981 or after)
*Were physically present in the United States on June 15, 2012, and at the time of making their request for consideration of deferred action with USCIS
*Had no lawful status on June 15, 2012
*Have completed high school or a GED, have been honorably discharged from the armed forces, or are enrolled in school
*Have not been convicted of a felony or serious misdemeanors, or three or more other misdemeanors, and do not otherwise pose a threat to national security or public safety”

“The beneficiaries of the proposed DREAM Act would have had to meet the following requirements to qualify:[3]

*Be inadmissible or deportable from the United States, or be in Temporary Protected Status (Sec. 3(b)(1)).
*They were younger than 18 years old on the date of their initial entry to the United States
*Have proof of having arrived in the United States before age 16[4] (Dream Act of 2017, S.1615, Sec.3(b)(1)(B), and HR3440, Sec.3(b)(1)(B)).[5][6]
*Have proof of residence in the United States for at least four consecutive years since their date of arrival
*If a male born in 1960 or later, have registered with the Selective Service
*Be between the ages of 12 and 35 at the time of bill enactment
*Have graduated from an American high school, obtained a GED, or been admitted to an institution of higher education
    *Be of good moral character”

  12. Wiki?

No thanks. I prefer news and facts, not the opinion and biases of the liberal posters at wiki.

“MS-13 spreads to 22 states, fed by 300,000 illegals, DACA recipients, tied to 207 murders

“The vicious MS-13 gang, stifled under former President George W. Bush, exploded during the Obama era fueled by 300,000 illegals, including those given amnesty under the DACA program, and has now been linked to crimes in 22 states, according to a new report.

Since 2012, 207 murders have been tied to the gang called “Mara Salvatrucha,” and there are over 500 cases nationwide of MS-13 members being charged in major crimes, according to the report from the Center for Immigration Studies.

But it can sometimes be hard to deport the illegals involved because about half of the crimes detailed in the report occurred in so-called “sanctuary cities” that do not cooperate with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.”

“The Trump administration has declared war on MS-13, the notoriously brutal gang based in El Salvador. A similar initiative launched by the Bush administration in 2005 stifled the gang’s activity after several years, but the gang has been able to rebuild itself here since 2012.

Center researchers reviewed more than 500 cases of MS-13 gang members arrested nationwide since 2012. We conclude that this resurgence represents a very serious threat to public safety in communities where MS-13 has rebuilt itself. The resurgence is directly connected to the illegal arrival and resettlement of more than 300,000 Central American youths and families that has continued unabated for six years, and to a de-prioritization of immigration enforcement in the interior of the country that occurred at the same time.”

In other words, tied directly to DACA.

“How DACA Shields Violent Gang Members”

“CIS reviewed more than 500 cases of MS-13 gang members arrested nationwide since 2012. The group’s conclusions reveal startling facts about the danger that illegal alien gang members pose to Americans.

MS-13, based in El Salvador, is notorious for its brutality which includes high volumes of rapes, murders, kidnappings, and drug trafficking. Ironically, the gang’s presence in the United States was formerly on the decline, due in part to the Bush Administration’s efforts to prioritize state and local cooperation in apprehending and prosecuting gang members.

Under the Obama administration, however, these efforts became less of a priority. As a result, gang arrests by ICE fell from around 4,600 in 2012 to about 1,580 in 2014.

Accordingly, MS-13 violence increased. In just the last year, Montgomery County, Maryland, reported a 20 percent rise in MS-13 related incarcerations. Prince William County, Virginia, reported a similar increase of 32 percent, while Fairfax County, next door, reported that its MS-13 inmate population doubled in 2017. Even the left-leaning New Yorker magazine recently published a feature story on the violence facing Long Island residents as a result of MS-13.

All told, there are now MS-13 arrests reported across 22 states. According to the Department of Justice, MS-13 gang members now reside in 40 states and the District of Columbia.”

“New Data Shows Criminal Arrest Histories of DACA Requestors

WASHINGTON—U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) released new data (PDF, 140 KB) regarding arrests and apprehensions among the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) requestor population. The data contains both criminal and civil information of those approved and denied under DACA.

The findings are part of a continuous release of information by the agency to its website on both the DACA policy and its requestor population; including most recently, data regarding ages and education levels of DACA recipients. The new data relates to arrests and apprehensions, which do not necessarily result in actual convictions.

Among the findings of the release:

Almost 8-percent of total DACA requestors (59,786 individuals) had arrest records as of the date the systems were queried, which included offenses such as assault and battery, rape, murder, and drunk driving, among others. “Requestors” includes individuals approved and denied DACA.
Of those individuals whose DACA requests were approved and had one or more arrests or apprehensions, 53,792 were arrested or apprehended prior to their most recent approval.
Approximately 13-percent (7,814) of approved DACA requestors with an arrest had an arrest after their grant was approved and prior to renewal.
54.8-percent of DACA requestors with more than one arrest (17,079) most recently had a DACA case status of “approved” as of the date the systems were queried.
199 individuals who requested DACA had 10 or more arrests. Of those, 51 most recently had DACA case status of “approved,” as of the date the systems were queried.
Of the total 888,765 DACA requestors, 797,297 had no arrests or apprehensions, and 710, 842 were approved.

  15. This refutes what you quoted from Wiki about what makes you ineligible for DACA, specifically….

“*Have not been convicted of a felony or serious misdemeanors, or three or more other misdemeanors, and do not otherwise pose a threat to national security or public safety”

That didn’t seem to stop these folks from getting DACA protections.

“Ten people who’d been arrested on murder charges were nonetheless granted permission to remain and work in the U.S. under the Obama-era DACA amnesty, according to new government data released Monday.

Thirty-one “Dreamers” had rape charges on their records, nearly 500 had been accused of sex crimes, and more than 2,000 had been arrested for drunken driving — yet were approved for DACA status.

All told, 53,000 people who have been approved for DACA — 7 percent of the total — had a criminal record when the government granted them status. Nearly 8,000 racked up criminal charges after they’d been approved, according to the data from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.”

And this refutes the often used talking point about how they commit less crimes than citizens….

“A new report about crimes committed by illegals finds that younger undocumented immigrants who were eligible for former President Obama’s DACA amnesty program commit far more crimes than other immigrants or U.S. citizens.

In unearthing rare data that details the crimes and sentences of illegals in Arizona, the Crime Prevention Research Center reported that immigrants age 15-35, the general population of the 700,000 in Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, “commit crime at twice the rate of young U.S. citizens.”

  16. AJ – Sounds like the problem is that the requirements for DACA are being ignored, which is a shame. It is always the ones who game a system or get away with things who spoil it for those who are trying to do the right thing.
