Prayer Requests 2-27-19

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajissun and the folks in The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 26

Vindicate me, Lord,
    for I have led a blameless life;
   I have trusted in the Lord
    and have not faltered.
Test me, Lord, and try me,
    examine my heart and my mind;
for I have always been mindful of your unfailing love
    and have lived in reliance on your faithfulness.

I do not sit with the deceitful,
    nor do I associate with hypocrites.
I abhor the assembly of evildoers
    and refuse to sit with the wicked.
I wash my hands in innocence,
    and go about your altar, Lord,
proclaiming aloud your praise
    and telling of all your wonderful deeds.

Lord, I love the house where you live,
    the place where your glory dwells.
Do not take away my soul along with sinners,
    my life with those who are bloodthirsty,
10 in whose hands are wicked schemes,
    whose right hands are full of bribes.
11 I lead a blameless life;
    deliver me and be merciful to me.

12 My feet stand on level ground;
    in the great congregation I will praise the Lord.

  1. Prayer for Anastasia as she has a bone marrow check today to learn if her Hodgkins is stage four or just three. She loves the Lord and is serious about trusting Him through this to whatever outcome.

  2. Please pray for The Boy (who is still my Little Guy in my heart).

    Lately, he has been having more quantity of time with his dad than with his mom, especially since she keeps being scheduled for 2nd shifts, which means she only sees him for an hour or less in the morning before school on those days. (And she usually works at least one day on the weekends when he is not in school.) X is not the best role model for a boy, and it seems they spend most of their time playing video games, together or separately. Nightingale still notices a change in his behavior when he comes home from being with X.

    Part of my prayer for that situation is that God would put godly men in The Boy’s life whom he will look up to. Of course, I also pray for God to save X and transform his life. (And the same for Grampa, who is a staunch atheist.) Another part of my prayer is that Nightingale will start getting fewer 2nd shifts. (Well over half of her shifts are 2nd shifts.)

    Another matter is his weight. The Boy is pretty chubby (fat, actually, though I hate to use that word), and thinks he is hungry way too often. He especially gained weight after his Papa’s death. We have been trying to help him change his habits, and there aren’t a lot of snacks around. (My cookies or other treats Nightingale buys for me are hidden. He doesn’t know they exist.) But still, he insists that he is hungry even when we know he can’t possibly be.

    Nightingale and I can come up with a better game plan for how to help him, but the biggest need is for a change within him. Please pray for that.

    Thank you, and God bless.

  3. My mother in law who we are visiting in Ecuador has just been diagnosed with an aggressive cancer. The family is looking into treatment options. Please pray that the treatment will be successful and that the family can have peace with no controversy over treatment or bills. There are 9 siblings and many relationships between them have not been good for years.

  4. Please keep my friend, Ksren, in your prayers. I have not heard from her today. Probably I will after her husband sees her after work and helps charge her phone at the hospital. It is stressful for me not bring able to drive and help them during this time.
