Prayer Requests 10-20-18

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 75

1 We praise you, God,
    we praise you, for your Name is near;
    people tell of your wonderful deeds.

2 You say, “I choose the appointed time;
    it is I who judge with equity.
3 When the earth and all its people quake,
    it is I who hold its pillars firm.
4 To the arrogant I say, ‘Boast no more,’
    and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horns.
5 Do not lift your horns against heaven;
    do not speak so defiantly.’”

6 No one from the east or the west
    or from the desert can exalt themselves.
7 It is God who judges:
    He brings one down, he exalts another.
8 In the hand of the Lord is a cup
    full of foaming wine mixed with spices;
   he pours it out, and all the wicked of the earth
    drink it down to its very dregs.

9 As for me, I will declare this forever;
    I will sing praise to the God of Jacob,
10 who says, “I will cut off the horns of all the wicked,
    but the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.”

Psalm 71:1-8

1 In you, Lord, I have taken refuge;
    let me never be put to shame.
2 In your righteousness, rescue me and deliver me;
    turn your ear to me and save me.

   give the command to save me,
    for you are my rock and my fortress.
4 Deliver me, my God, from the hand of the wicked,
    from the grasp of those who are evil and cruel.

5 For you have been my hope, Sovereign Lord,
    my confidence since my youth.
6 From birth I have relied on you;
    you brought me forth from my mother’s womb.
    I will ever praise you.
7 I have become a sign to many;
    you are my strong refuge.
8 My mouth is filled with your praise,
    declaring your splendor all day long.

Peter’s Pack of Pickled Pigskin Picks 2018 Week 8

The number eight. The Beatles had a popular song called “Eight Days a Week”. “Eight is Enough” was a popular TV show years ago. Eight wins in a college football season is pretty good. But here at Pickled Pigskins we can’t seem to get to that number correct. Only three of us have been able to get 8 or more correct out of ten games. And most weeks 6 gets a win, including Idaho Mike last week. Let’s see if we can improve. In order to help us out, I’ve included current overall and conference records for each team.

Psalm 70

1 Hasten, O God, to save me;
    come quickly, Lord, to help me.

2 May those who want to take my life
    be put to shame and confusion;
   may all who desire my ruin
    be turned back in disgrace.
3 May those who say to me, “Aha! Aha!”
    turn back because of their shame.
4 But may all who seek you
    rejoice and be glad in you;
   may those who long for your saving help always say,
    “The Lord is great!”

5 But as for me, I am poor and needy;
    come quickly to me, O God.
   You are my help and my deliverer;
    Lord, do not delay.
