Prayer Requests 8-8-18

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajisuun and The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 1

Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
    whatever they do prospers.

Not so the wicked!
    They are like chaff
    that the wind blows away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

  1. Carol’s finishing out her antibiotic IV treatments in a rehab, she’s set to be released hopefully this weekend.

One of our reporters at our sister paper experienced convulsions yesterday while out on a story and landed in the hospital. This may be some pre-existing condition, we don’t know, but someone thought he might be diabetic. Very scary, our senior editor visited him in the hospital last night and another reporter told me he remained in guarded condition so we’re all concerned.

Friend ‘E’ from down the street continues getting treatments for stage 4 cancer, continued prayer that her faith remains strong and that the treatments help her body also to remain as strong as possible for as long as possible — and that the pain levels subside and can be managed. She’s receiving radiation treatments which she said really helped last time with the back pain.

(Meanwhile, she said there have been quite a few medical insurance glitches and mess-ups through it all — both for her and her church friend who also is going through cancer treatments. The system sounds like it’s really not working well these days for folks who have to go through these more serious issues.)

  2. Having some mild neck discomfort the last couple of days. I usually “shake” stuff pretty quickly, so I’m never quick to go to the doctor, but I’m concerned nonetheless and would appreciate prayers, including that if I am somehow contagious, that my husband not catch it. He’s still getting over being sick from me attending our daughter’s baby shower (she was sick at the time and didn’t yet know it, and he spent some time with her), and the baby is now due any time and neither of us needs to be sick, but both of us are.
