Prayer Requests 6-19-18

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 119:73-80

י Yodh

73 Your hands made me and formed me;
    give me understanding to learn your commands.
74 May those who fear you rejoice when they see me,
    for I have put my hope in your word.
75 I know, Lord, that your laws are righteous,
    and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me.
76 May your unfailing love be my comfort,
    according to your promise to your servant.
77 Let your compassion come to me that I may live,
    for your law is my delight.
78 May the arrogant be put to shame for wronging me without cause;
    but I will meditate on your precepts.
79 May those who fear you turn to me,
    those who understand your statutes.
80 May I wholeheartedly follow your decrees,
    that I may not be put to shame.

  1. Got a call from X’s Mom this morning, to tell me that her husband would be picking up The Boy for his last Lacrosse game of the season later today, as X is in the hospital. It has something to do with his bi-polar meds not working right or something. So I guess X’s behavior the other day was due to being off-kilter from his meds. Or he had stopped taking them maybe?

    Please pray that God will save him, deliver him, and heal him, and whatever else you might want to pray for him. Thank you.

  2. Prayers for a co-worker’s neighbor, Ernie — she lives in the same 1920s Spanish courthouse as he does, just down the street from me, and realized they hadn’t seen him in a couple days. Co-worker, who’s now doing crime coverage for us, told me he’d mentioned maybe visiting his son in Utah for Father’s Day so they kind of thought that’s where he was, but there were some things that didn’t add up (his trash hadn’t been taken out and he hadn’t taken his flag in at night as he always does for several nights running), so she found his son on FB who said, no, he wasn’t there.

    That set up something of a real worry as Ernie is not well (prostrate cancer, he also drinks too much, but is an incredibly sweet guy whom they all love). Police arrived, he wasn’t in his apartment (their big worry) but everything else was, his wallet, phone, etc.; they put out a missing person’s report and discovered by last night that he was in a hospital. No word on how he is but the son was flying in last night so we’ll hear today.

    My co-worker, in her late 20s, has been really good to him, I remember he was riding in her car, she was taking him somewhere, when she had to make a brief stop at my house one morning to drop something off for work (I was having my windows redone and wasn’t coming in). Other mornings I’d see him just standing by himself out in front of his building (he did that often) when I drove by, he’s been one of the local neighborhood characters that many folks knew and tried to look out for.

  3. Everyone here (east coast) is complaining about the “heat and humidity.” I love it; I rode my bicycle 24.8 miles yesterday when the heat index was reported to be 104.

  4. Amazingly, here in Connecticut, we’ve had the heat, but not the humidity that usually comes along with it. Very unusual for us, but nice. I would be shocked to look at the thermostat in the living room, and realize the heat had substantially risen but I didn’t yet feel the need for the air conditioner until later in the day.

  5. Please pray for Camp Kadesh. One of the school campers was badly hurt this morning. Pray for wise doctors and quick healing.

    We also lost a speaker for the second week of camp. Please pray that God will bring in the speaker that he wants for our ten to twelve year olds.

    Thank you
