Prayer Requests 6-15-18

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Anyone else?

Psalm 119:49-56

ז Zayin

49 Remember your word to your servant,
for you have given me hope.
50 My comfort in my suffering is this:
    Your promise preserves my life.
51 The arrogant mock me unmercifully,
but I do not turn from your law.
52 I remember, Lord, your ancient laws,
and I find comfort in them.
53 Indignation grips me because of the wicked,
    who have forsaken your law.
54 Your decrees are the theme of my song
    wherever I lodge.
55 In the night, Lord, I remember your name,
that I may keep your law.
56 This has been my practice:
    I obey your precepts.

  1. Most of you don’t understand driving in the hot summertime without AC. I do. Cars used to have a side window to divert the air inside for a breeze, but modern cars don’t have those. It can get bad.

  2. Our summer trips to Iowa were in the a/c-free family car. And my last two cars had the a/c system go out a few years before I got rid of them.

  3. No A/C in my parent’s vehicle currently. The family vehicles of my childhood didn’t have A/C either. It is really bad driving through a big city in the summertime with no A/C, especially for an asthmatic.

Speaking of which, I have to move all my things back to my parents house as I am giving up the apartment at the end of the month. Since I had that asthma attack while traveling in my parents’ vehicle without A/C, they have been concerned about driving me back through the metropolis that is the GTA (greater Toronto area). To further complicate matters now, of course, my father himself cannot drive through that metropolis. Even without the clots on his lungs, his driving foot is still out of action. There is no way on earth that my mother can do it – she would have a nervous breakdown. Anyway, their vehicle is really not in very good shape and I don’t know as I would trust it on the highway. Second and Second In-law have offered to help, but they have a lot on their plate right now (and Second still has a nursing baby) and they only have a small car. I don’t know what is going to happen, but it wouldn’t hurt to pray about it.

  4. Growing up we had older cars with poor air conditioning and sometimes it didn’t work. This was Phoenix, with vacations through the Southwest. In Chicago for several years I had a red car without air conditioning, and it was my last car without power windows. After work I would change in the bathroom, change into clothes I could sweat in on the way home. I would roll down the windows a bit (if rain wasn’t expected), but it got rather warm. But it was Chicago and thus doable; in Phoenix you wouldn’t want a 45-minute commute home with some of it not moving at all, in a red car without a.c.
