  1. Democrats descend into farce….

I’m starting to think Republicans have little to worry about.

    https://pjmedia.com/andrewklavan/the-democrats-descend-into-farce/

“A farce is a comedy marked by buffoonery and crude, ludicrously impossible events. So is the Democratic party.

Take Nathan Larson, who is running for congress in Virginia as an Independent. Larson supports pedophilia, incest, white supremacy and marital rape. I am not kidding. So naturally you ask: How on earth did this felonious loon get in the race? Well, remember when Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe was so desperate to get votes for Hillary Clinton he approved a law allowing felons to vote and run for office? That paved the way for this shmoe, who would have otherwise been barred because he’d done time for threatening to kill the president (W. or Obama, he wasn’t picky). So basically, Democrat corruption not only failed to get its candidate to the finish line, but also put this raving clown at the starting gate. Which would be a pretty funny piece of farce if it weren’t for the whole, you know, satanic evil of it all.

Or how about this? The May jobs numbers were posted last week and the economy is flying high. Unemployment is as low as it’s been in decades and black unemployment is lower than ever. Here’s what Don Lemon — CNN’s Dumb to Chris Cuomo’s Dumber — says about the report: “There’s no question today’s job report is good news, including the news that we’re as close as we’ve ever been to full employment in the black community. But what’s full employment without full respect?” Don apparently thinks Americans don’t respect all black people. Who’s going to break the news that it’s just him we don’t respect?

As if that reaction weren’t farcical enough, the rest of the Democrat media obsessed over the fact that President the Donald tweeted a gleeful hint to the jobs numbers an hour before they were released — a break in protocol. “How will we survive Trump when he keeps breaking norms,” said one pundit on Morning Joe. NBC ran the headline: “Economy Added 223,000 jobs in May, but Trump’s premarket tweet is the focus.” Is the focus. There’s a piece of phraseology for you. Is the focus to whom? I have this image in my mind of a guy sitting down to dinner with his family, saying, “Honey… kids… the good news is that there’ll be Christmas presents again this year. The bad news: President Trump tweeted about it an hour early.” He’d probably let them stop sobbing before he told them that Don Lemon felt disrespected. You don’t want to hit them with too much too fast.”

  2. And then they just descend into outright stupid.

This is another reason why few take the media seriously anymore.

    http://freebeacon.com/blog/moronic-media-manufactured-melania-mystery/

“Melania Trump has not been seen in public for more than twenty days. This is probably at least partly attributable to the kidney surgery she underwent a few weeks ago, but apparently this is a big deal and Twitter is on it.

    Maybe Donald Trump beat her!

Maybe she’s testifying for the feds!””

  3. This farce needs to end. Time to call Google, Amazon, and the others before Congress to answer for censoring conservatives.

    https://legalinsurrection.com/2018/06/this-is-my-shocked-face-amazon-turns-over-policing-of-its-charity-program-to-splc/#more-251719

“We got kicked out of the Amazon Associates program for reasons that remain unknown.

Amazon told us that its “criteria” used to kick us out were proprietary. Amazon would not provide evidence of our alleged Operating Agreement violations to us or to the Daily Caller News Foundation, which was investigating the story.

I noted in my prior post a concern about how we were treated based on Amazon kicking Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) out of another Amazon program, the SMILE program for charities, where Amazon customers can designate a charity to receive a percentage of whatever the customer spends. ADF, in case you were unaware, has won a string of U.S. Supreme Court religious freedom cases, including the Colorado bakery case that was just decided.

Yet ADF was kicked out of the SMILE program because it has been designated a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). Relying on SPLC’s evaluation of groups reflects a corporate political culture that is hostile to conservatives.

As readers are aware from dozens of our prior posts, SPLC has become a primary tool to attack conservatives and stifle speech through its hate and extremist lists. Those lists are highly politicized, including in the past people such as Rand Paul, Ben Carson and Ayaan Hirsi Ali. Being designated a hate group or extremist by SPLC can spell the end of campus and other appearances. In the case of the Family Research Council, it led to violence when an SPLC follower used the list as the basis to attempt a shooting at FRC headquarters.”

“But not group has gone as far as Amazon in actually turning over control to SPLC, according to a Daily Caller report:

Four of the world’s biggest tech platforms have working partnerships with a left-wing nonprofit that has a track record of inaccuracies and routinely labels conservative organizations as “hate groups.”

Facebook, Amazon, Google and Twitter all work with or consult the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) in policing their platforms for “hate speech” or “hate groups,” a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation found….

Of the four companies, Amazon gives the SPLC the most direct authority over its platform, TheDCNF found.

  4. For Roscuro,

I voted today……not that it makes a difference here. The NDP wins about 60% of the vote, the Liberals about 25% and the Conservatives fight for third place. The only conservative sign I saw in my riding was in a marijuana dispensary

The vitirol I’ve seen directed at our current Premier that was homophobic was ftom men hiding behind a keyboard. I doubt they were evangelicals. Canadian evangelicals are a polite lot and those I know are more critical of Ford than Trump

Hydro costs affect the poor, rural and urban alike. The conservatives and then tge liberals messed up the file. Both are unsure if they should treat it as a public good or ptivate profit. I’d argue for the former….

  5. Google, Amazon, Facebook etc are private corporations. I thought the Republicans were against regulating private corporations. Perhaps they want to ressurect the Fairness Doctrine. Do they want to regulate cable news, newspapers. etc?

  6. HRW, I didn’t vote. I wasn’t sure where to go, since I’m not at my permanent residence, and with my asthma being really irritated by the pollen today, I didn’t feel up to trying to find it. I suspect, from the number of NDP signs around here, the fewer Liberal signs, and the barely visible Conservative signs, that the NDP incumbent will be returned to Queen’s Park.

  7. Some good news…

    http://www.latimes.com/local/california/la-me-da-election-soros-20180606-story.html

“As they poured millions of dollars into district attorney campaigns, New York billionaire George Soros and other liberal donors seemed poised for victory in California.

They enjoyed the political momentum, having helped elect more than a dozen prosecutors from Florida to Texas.

They had experience with the state’s voters, who overwhelmingly approved ballot measures in recent years to reduce the number of people behind bars.

And the prosecutor races were in counties that solidly backed Hillary Clinton for president less than two years ago.

But voters in three closely watched district attorney elections in California appeared to deliver a sharp defeat this week to the national network of wealthy donors and activist groups that is attempting to reshape the criminal justice system by electing liberal prosecutors.

Incumbent district attorneys in Sacramento, San Diego and Alameda counties were well ahead of Soros-backed challengers in unofficial results posted Wednesday.

In the only race where Soros backed an incumbent, the results were too close to determine whether the Contra Costa County district attorney managed to avoid a runoff in the November general election.

The results suggest the campaigns failed to energize like-minded voters to turn out against entrenched incumbents backed by police unions in a midterm primary election, in which conservatives historically are more likely to vote. And they appeared to underestimate the deeply rooted support that law enforcement enjoys in a state as politically blue as California.”

  8. Entrapping witnesses?

    http://dailycaller.com/2018/06/06/george-papadopoulos-millian-suspicious/

“In the wake of the revelation that an FBI informant lured George Papadopoulos to London during the 2016 campaign, the former Trump campaign adviser has grown skeptical of many of his contacts during and after the election, his wife says.

Papadopoulos’ contacts with the FBI informant — a former University of Cambridge professor named Stefan Halper — have been widely reported over the past several weeks. The 30-year-old Chicago native’s interactions with Joseph Mifsud and Alexander Downer, two diplomats who are key to special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling in the election, are also well known.

Simona Mangiante, Papadopoulos’ wife, is now drawing attention to two other encounters that Papadopoulos has had over the past two years that she considers “highly suspicious.” One of those contacts offered to pay Papadopoulos $30,000 a month while he worked inside the Trump administration, she told The Daily Caller News Foundation.

“It looks to be one among a series of attempts to entrap George,” Mangiante, a former attorney in the European Parliament, told TheDCNF. “The question today to me [is whether] these people are simply shady businessmen or are they part of a greater attempt to entrap George in illegal activity.””

  9. My how things have changed in 500 days.

    https://www.mediaite.com/online/dem-senator-joe-manchin-im-open-to-supporting-trump-in-2020/

“Joe Manchin is an anomaly in the U.S. Senate. The West Virginia politician is known for being a centrist Democrat in a state President Donald Trump won by a landslide, and has done what few others in his party have: teamed up with Trump on multiple occasions.

Now, according to a new profile, Manchin’s position on the president might evolve into complete endorsement down the line.

“I’m open to supporting the person who I think is best for my country and my state,” Manchin said to POLITICO when asked about his 2020 endorsement. “If his policies are best, I’ll be right there.”

The piece notes that Manchin could end up supporting Trump’s re-election in 2020 if he manages to stay in the senate after the upcoming midterm elections. Manchin also spoke to POLITICO about his give-and-take with Trump, his regular communications with the president, and the struggle of being a Democrat in a state with a large population of Trump supporters.

“I’m with him sometimes more than other Republican senators are with him,” said Manchin. “Washington Democrats are making it more difficult for me to be a West Virginia Democrat.””
