Psalm  101

1 I will sing of your love and justice;
    to you, Lord, I will sing praise.
2 I will be careful to lead a blameless life—
    when will you come to me?

   I will conduct the affairs of my house
    with a blameless heart.
3 I will not look with approval
    on anything that is vile.

   I hate what faithless people do;
    I will have no part in it.
4 The perverse of heart shall be far from me;
    I will have nothing to do with what is evil.

5 Whoever slanders their neighbor in secret,
    I will put to silence;
   whoever has haughty eyes and a proud heart,
    I will not tolerate.

6 My eyes will be on the faithful in the land,
    that they may dwell with me;
   the one whose walk is blameless
    will minister to me.

7 No one who practices deceit
    will dwell in my house;
   no one who speaks falsely
    will stand in my presence.

8 Every morning I will put to silence
    all the wicked in the land;
   I will cut off every evildoer
    from the city of the Lord.

  1. The fire has many more hot spots and dangerous fronts after yesterday’s wind and heat. Today’s winds are favourable for those of us living south of the park, but the temperatures for the next week are mid 80s and up with no rain, low RH, and more wind. I think husband is coming home early from his work trip because of the wind forecast for tomorrow. The fire is now over 17,500 hectares (whatever that means – oh, 43,000 acres or 68 sq miles)

    I am very thankful I am still able to be in our home, but living out of suitcases is frustrating and having to pack everything up again each night is a pain. (Michelle, I only understand a very small bit of what you went through).

    No one has lost their home and no one has been injured, for which we are very thankful.

  3. Amen, Kare. Make sure your computer is backed up and then don’t worry about it. That helped immeasurably. I just carried photos and a few minor items for memory’s sake. I kept thinking about your comment, all your values in the car meant you couldn’t go to church lest they be stolen.

    We didn’t much of that but people were certainly concerned.

  4. Heavenly Father, please send rain and favorable weather conditions Kare’s way. I praise You for keeping everyone safe as the fires have burned. Continue with Your hand of protection over everyone in the area, and, if it be Your will, bring a speedy end to the fires.

    Calm any and all fears, and cheer weary hearts as we wait on You, our sovereign and merciful Lord.

    In Jesus’ name I pray.

  5. Please continue praying for my husband. His chronic hip pain / disability has brought on depression. He told me today it’s gotten to a point where he doesn’t feel like getting out of bed anymore in the morning. He’s never felt that way at any time before in his nearly sixty years.

  7. Keeping your husband in prayer 6arrows….praying he can overcome the discouragement as he leans upon the Lord for direction and healing. I know while in the midst of the pain it would be so easy to give up….I am trusting our Lord will intervene and remind him that He is “not done with him yet” 😊
    AJ please let Cheryl know we are continually remembering her in our prayers. I am so thankful she was cleared for the surgery and all is proceeding as planned. Praying you all get some much needed rest this evening.

  8. Thank you, NancyJill. I’m praying the Lord lifts him out of his discouragement, too. A few weeks ago he said he wished to have a bullet put through his head. Said wryly, not seriously, he told me then.

    Those words have come back to haunt me today, now that he’s so depressed as to have trouble getting out of bed.

    Another way God is teaching me to trust Him.
