Prayer Requests 5-14-18

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm  95

Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
    let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before him with thanksgiving
    and extol him with music and song.

For the Lord is the great God,
    the great King above all gods.
In his hand are the depths of the earth,
    and the mountain peaks belong to him.
The sea is his, for he made it,
    and his hands formed the dry land.

Come, let us bow down in worship,
    let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;
for he is our God
    and we are the people of his pasture,
    the flock under his care.

   Today, if only you would hear his voice,
“Do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah,
    as you did that day at Massah in the wilderness,
where your ancestors tested me;
    they tried me, though they had seen what I did.
10 For forty years I was angry with that generation;
    I said, ‘They are a people whose hearts go astray,
    and they have not known my ways.’
11 So I declared on oath in my anger,
    ‘They shall never enter my rest.’”

  1. Woke up with a headache again today. That is not a pleasant start to the day. Fortunately, there are meds available to help with that.
    Prayer for wisdom with daughter. She is back at her most rebellious. She wanted to talk last night, about: “getting all of this garbage behind us”. Basically, she wanted me to stop treating her like I am the adult and she is the child. But that is not going to happen so I guess we are stuck. She said she planned to ride her bike to the learning fair this evening (a public school book sale) and would be home around nine. Her bedtime is seven and for good reason. We told her she was not going and she went over the edge. Her brother was here and he talked her down a bit but she was still quite resistant to any thought of being told what to do. We try to give her as much freedom as possible but it does not seem to help her. She does nothing now but sit in her chair and beg for attention and the occasional walk. Oh, and yesterday she rode to town though I had told her no. She is allowed to go Mon through Fri.

    We will look again at placing her in a facility.

  2. Please pray for my friend, Chere, who was told that she probably has colon cancer. She took some sort of stool test, which came back positive. She is resistant to a colonoscopy. Please pray that she has wisdom and peace during this time. Her husband died a year ago, and she has no children.

  3. The fire in the park has jumped the guard. We are loading up, bringing in water to fill the pool and setting up hoses and sprinklers. We’re not in direct danger yet, but we want to be prepared. Please pray for calm winds and for the firefighters.

  4. Will do, kare.

    Why is your friend resistant to a colonoscopy? It would seem to be the sensible thing to do, if there is a sign of cancer.

    Prayers, mumsee.

    Thank you for the prayers for the relationship issues I had. I received a surprise letter from one of the other women that buoyed me up. Glad I did as our work was completed today in a joyful atmosphere. The woman with the issues was not there, since she was at her cabin. I have been remembering to pray for her.

    I still have some issues with another woman. It involves my mother, so please pray for her and this woman who needs the Lord. God will know who it is.

  5. My friend is very much into natural healing, health food, organic, etc. She is very against antibiotics, etc. She does not believe colonoscopies are a safe procedure. We talked yesterday about the advantages of getting one, such as they can take out small cancers right then. I told her to pray about it, and listen to God. I feel for her, as she is so alone, and all of her extended family is in Iowa.

  6. Rkessler, my husband had precancerous polyps removed that way. It is better to go ahead than wait. It is an unnatural procedure, but cancer is unnatural, too. We all fear the unknown. I am praying for her.

  7. I would rather nip the cancer in the bud than waiting until I am full of pain and there is no hope. Lots of people are living better lives and are just plain alive, because of drugs developed for their illnesses. I thank God for them.
