Prayer Requests 5-3-18

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 85

You, Lord, showed favor to your land;
    you restored the fortunes of Jacob.
You forgave the iniquity of your people
    and covered all their sins.
You set aside all your wrath
    and turned from your fierce anger.

Restore us again, God our Savior,
    and put away your displeasure toward us.
Will you be angry with us forever?
    Will you prolong your anger through all generations?
Will you not revive us again,
    that your people may rejoice in you?
Show us your unfailing love, Lord,
    and grant us your salvation.

I will listen to what God the Lord says;
    he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants—
    but let them not turn to folly.
Surely his salvation is near those who fear him,
    that his glory may dwell in our land.

10 Love and faithfulness meet together;
    righteousness and peace kiss each other.
11 Faithfulness springs forth from the earth,
    and righteousness looks down from heaven.
12 The Lord will indeed give what is good,
    and our land will yield its harvest.
13 Righteousness goes before him
    and prepares the way for his steps.

  1. Although I’ve mentioned it, I haven’t asked prayer for my hip. (At least, I think it is my hip. Could possibly-maybe-almost be sciatica? But doesn’t fit all the symptoms of that.) I’m asking prayer now.

    It’s not horrible. I can walk without a limp, or much of one, except for when I get up from sitting or out of bed, and I can stand easily. In fact, as I stand here at my standing laptop desk, I do a little “dance” of switching back and forth between my feet, and that is fine. But sitting down can often become painful, and I end up having to stand again. Eventually, my feet get tired. And I have to be careful about what angle I keep my leg at night in bed. I cannot sleep on my side anymore, which is my most comfortable position.

    This has been going on for maybe three weeks or more now (it was worse in the beginning, so that’s a good sign). I tend to have recurrent problems with my hips, due to either tendinitis or bursitis (not sure which one), which eventually goes away, but does last a long time each time.

    It’s more of a nuisance and annoyance than being in a lot of pain, but it is achy at times, and I would love to be able to sit longer, and to sleep more comfortably. So please pray this will heal more quickly, and/or for patience for me while I wait.
