Prayer Requests 5-1-18

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 82

God presides in the great assembly;
    he renders judgment among the “gods”:

“How long will you defend the unjust
    and show partiality to the wicked?
Defend the weak and the fatherless;
    uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.
Rescue the weak and the needy;
    deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

“The ‘gods’ know nothing, they understand nothing.
    They walk about in darkness;
    all the foundations of the earth are shaken.

“I said, ‘You are “gods”;
    you are all sons of the Most High.’
But you will die like mere mortals;
    you will fall like every other ruler.”

Rise up, O God, judge the earth,
    for all the nations are your inheritance.

  1. Pray for E, my friend and neighbor from down the street, who goes to the oncologist for the first time today. A friend from her church will be with her. She’s inclined to pass on any chemo, but hasn’t ruled it out either. It will depend on the outlook and scenarios the doctor lays out for her today, I suppose. But stage 4 is not particularly hopeful.

  2. Prayer’s answered:
    YES
    She’s coming home today.
    Linda called, she is released.
    I told Linda that I would come to get her.
    Linda said it isn’t necessary. They will put her in the car and they will come home.
    We’ll take it from there.
    Thanx for the prayers and concern.
    You don’t know how much this means to me. You may think you do, but not until you get to your old age and there’s only one thing you have left in the world that matters.

    I know, I have C&L and the grandkids and great grands. But they have their own thing now.
    I once told Chuck that the only thing I could promise him is a good start in life.
    He has used it well.
    I am immensely blessed.

  3. So happy for Chas’s good news.

    Has anyone heard from Mumsee yet? (I’m behind on the Daily Thread).

    Thanks for prayers last week when I was under a lot of pressure at work leading up to vacation time. Today the biggest burden got lifted with a postponement until I get back (which means I’ll be under huge pressure then, but I’m not going to worry tomorrow’s worries today).

    Now the pressure is more at home, for everyone to be prepared and ready to go Thursday. I live in a family of procrastinators (and I am one), so we tend to be up late the night before a trip. I’m hoping we can go better rested this time.

  4. Rejoicing with you, Chas!

    I will admit now that when Elvera had to go back in the hospital, I was afraid for the two of you. It reminded me of the relief and happiness of Hubby coming home from that first week in one hospital only to end up in another one in less than 24 hours, and then ending up losing him. I was so upset for you, and cried out to God to not let that happen to you and Elvera.

  5. We had a close call today. One of the staff made a mistake while belaying another staff on the climbing wall. The climber fell from the top of the wall BUT the belayer managed to stop his fall inches from the ground and the only injuries were a scraped arm and slightly sore tailbone. The belayer has severe rope burn on her hands.

    Please pray that the belayer will be able to get past what happened and to have peace. The climber graciously offered to climb with her again for practice.
