Prayer Requests 4-18-18

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajisuun and The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 68:1-6

May God arise, may his enemies be scattered;
    may his foes flee before him.
May you blow them away like smoke—
    as wax melts before the fire,
    may the wicked perish before God.
But may the righteous be glad
    and rejoice before God;
    may they be happy and joyful.

Sing to God, sing in praise of his name,
    extol him who rides on the clouds;
    rejoice before him—his name is the Lord.
A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows,
    is God in his holy dwelling.
God sets the lonely in families,
    he leads out the prisoners with singing;
    but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.

  1. Prayer for my dad. He had eye surgery last week, cataracts and removal of scar tissue from a birth injury. So, for the first time in eighty eight years, he could see out of his left eye. Elated, he went in for the second eye yesterday. But the tissue is so weak, after they removed the lens, they found they could not attach a new one. So he is going up to Spokane to have it sewn in. My dad put this off for years as he was concerned about just such things. He believes and fairly correctly, that he is the only one who can care for his wife properly. He is already deaf and dreads the thought of losing his vision. I hope they can correct the problem and his vision is greatly helped beyond what it was two days ago.
    The prayer would be: not just wisdom and ability in the docs, and a healthy recovery, but that my dad would see that he needs to depend on God, not himself. He is a big do it yourself and don’t make the government pay for anything type of guy. My dad is not a believer.

  2. Surgery was supposed to start at two but he is still in there, from what I hear. It has been three and a half hours. Seems a bit long for cataract surgery.

  3. I am still trying to catch up (in a significant way) with my friend E and her recent medical issue, the exact nature of which I don’t know but I am expecting the worst — something is very seriously wrong, we were texting a while ago and she’s in the hospital, said there were ‘jaw dropping’ developments; but she seems to only want to tell me the details in person. From all she’s said, I think it is something life-threatening, so please pray for her and her peace — she said she has peace with God and sometimes sounds like she’s on a spiritual high over it all, but I can tell this is rocking her world. And yeah, I feel a little left out as she’s not really telling me anything.
