Prayer Requests 2-14-18

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajisuun and The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 8

Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

   You have set your glory
    in the heavens.
Through the praise of children and infants
you have established a stronghold against your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.
When I consider your heavens,
    the work of your fingers,
   the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?

You have made them a little lower than the angels
and crowned them with glory and honor.
You made them rulers over the works of your hands;
you put everything under their feet:
all flocks and herds,
and the animals of the wild,
the birds in the sky,
and the fish in the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.

Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

  1. Cheryl (re: your last question last night) – Believe me, Nightingale is a very smart cookie, and has done a lot of research and looked at the options. You should have heard the whole plan she had for her education before Hubby’s death. She had checked out the colleges and programs in the greater Hartford area, planning to get her pre-reqs done at a community college, then switch to a college that had a good nursing program but at lower cost than many other colleges.

She has said, as you mentioned, that it would be better financially for her to be an RN, but it looks like that has to wait for now. I trust her judgment, because she does her research, and she is not lazy. She is the most perseverant person I know. (She was an extremely stubborn and independent-minded little girl. I would tell her that the flip side of stubbornness is perseverance, and that if she could harness her stubbornness and flip it to persevering for the right reasons, she would do well. 🙂 )

But I will ask her again about online courses.

  2. Her practical work for her masters? She was already a practicing nurse at Wake Forest hospital in Winston Salem, of all places.

See the weird? Duke masters working at Wake Forest. 🙂

  3. It has been a tough week sorting out the situation with my precious friend…her husband came home last night telling her he went to the courthouse and filed for divorce. His behavior is bizarre and we are praying for protection. He now wants to go to marriage counseling…but he wants to sell the house before summer and before the divorce is final…he wants no attorneys involved….I have given to her the names of a wise Christian psychologist /counselor and that of one of the best attorneys in the Springs….of course we are praying for intervention of our Lord…there is just not something right with this man’s mind and I am concerned…

  4. Prayers for the worse school shooting that took place in Florida. So very frightening and sad for so many. So sorry to have our country have these types of things.

  5. Well, I finally had my wisdom tooth extracted this afternoon. It went well. Now I am in some pain, which is to be expected, along with the headache I’ve had associated with the tooth, which is worse after the extraction. But my neck and upper back area is also awfully achy. I doubt that has anything directly to do with the extraction, as I am prone to this kind of achiness now and then, especially when I am getting sick (I don’t think I am) or feeling stressed. (I was a bit stressed about the extraction, since I’d never been to this dentist before. Although I suppose the extraction itself could be considered a stress to my body.)

Please pray the area where the tooth was will heal as it should, with no complications. Thank you.

  6. It has been a very worrying day but we are thankful for the outcome. Friend’s granddaughter in SC was kidnapped and their DIL was badly beaten during a home invasion. They have found their precious grand baby in AL and we are praying for their DIL’s recovery. It is truly a scary world in which we find ourselves….
