😦 I got these e-mail from Ted Cruz, Heritage and a half-million others reminding me that I am running out of time to make a tax deductible contribution this year.
It’s getting desperate.
Everybody in the world wants me to send them $19.95 a month.
The atmosphere seems different at Chick-fil-a. I thought it was just H’ville, but it’s true here too. Seems to be more families.
I don’t know why. Can’t be entirely the menu.
But maybe so.
We just watched the Swiss Family Robinson. It was hysterical, especially watching the children on the emotional roller coaster. Laughing uproariously and hiding under blankets.
Chas, McDonald’s has given up catering to families. Meanwhile, Chick-fil-A makes it a point to be family friendly (working around a mom’s schedule, closed on Sundays) and pro-Christian, and that makes it very popular with homeschooling families–who are about the only families who regularly sit down to eat together anymore. Everyone else goes through the drive-thru on the way home from daycare or soccer practice with their one or two children. That’s an oversimplification, but not an extremely exaggerated one.
Kroger had a really good sale, today only. My husband didn’t want to go out when other people were up and around, so he went out and back before I was up. The kitchen table is now loaded with packs of muffins and donuts. Ai-yi-yi. He did also get crackers and soup (the excellent price on soup was his main reason to go out).
You don’t have to be a Christian to eat at Chick-fil-a, but lots of them do.]
The LGBT boycott a couple of years ago was the best thing to happen to them.
I am teaching for Bob again.
The lesson is about Paul and Barnabas breaking up. Paul to Asia, Barnabas takes Mark and goes to Cyprus.
Modern translations say Mark is cousin to Barnabas. But Coll. 4:10 in KJV says “Mark, sister’s son to Barnabas”. That makes him a nephew in my reckoning.. Doesn’t matter that much.
Off to fix breakfast now.
🙂 We stayed up to midnight last night! We were with church friends and they dared us . . . actually it was a fun party catching up with many. Even our daughter and a group of other 20-somethings, stayed for the entire party. Much fun.
I went to bed early, having given up on “Patton” (which I’d never seen but a former boyfriend had loved it so I figured it was good and that I should probably watch it at long last but I found myself entirely bored??). Anyway, going to bed at 10 p.m. didn’t matter much since everything exploded at midnight and went on for 1/2 hour. We live in an area where everyone has their own very large fireworks which they insist on setting off even though it’s illegal. So we were surrounded by the sounds of war for 30 minutes which unnerved my dogs as usual.
🙂 Tomatoes dealt with. Now there is room in the chest freezer and ready to use products in the upright freezer. We will have borscht for supper tonight with french bread, so no more time in the kitchen today for me. Oh, I might make up some spice mixes – I make my own chile powder, Montreal steak spice and cajun spice because then I can leave out the onion powder and cumin.
Hey, I just found out that I can download and read World magazine on my ipad. what fun. They give special discounts for missionaries nd now there is an easy way to read it.
😦 It’s the end of the year.
We hope for something better, but I don’t see it.

🙂 I can see the floor in my office! I think the vacuum cleaner will actually fit in here now!
🙂 Down to two emails in my inbox. I just have to make some decisions and do some research and it can be EMPTY!
🙂 Fun week with my daughter and son in the house.
🙂 Monk marathon and we’ve only just finished the second season with six more to go. We don’t own enough puzzles to work before we finish the series.
😦 Which will not be possible before the kids leave.
🙂 Gorgeous day in NorCal. No rain

🙂 A stay vacation in which I have seldom even left the house. I may drag myself outside to walk to the library once it warms up, however.
🙂 A drive to the coast this afternoon possible with an early dinner of Dungeness crab!
🙂 The end of 2017. It’s been quite a year.

🙂 A wonderful Christmas with our children and all the dogs
🙂 No one was ill during Christmas
😦 The severe cold – even worse than dog park cold, I believe
🙂 Lots of healthy food in the fridge
😦 It’s so hard to make the switch to the healthy food from the rich Christmas treats

I may fix some eggs and grits for breakfast this morning.
I didn’t get a single e-mail today advising me that I still have time to send them money.
