Prayer Requests 10-20-17

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Anyone else?

Psalm  70

Hasten, O God, to save me;
    come quickly, Lord, to help me.

May those who want to take my life
    be put to shame and confusion;
may all who desire my ruin
    be turned back in disgrace.
May those who say to me, “Aha! Aha!”
    turn back because of their shame.
But may all who seek you
    rejoice and be glad in you;
may those who long for your saving help always say,
    “The Lord is great!”

But as for me, I am poor and needy;
    come quickly to me, O God.
You are my help and my deliverer;
    Lord, do not delay.

  1. I’ve been so busy that I can’t remember the last thing I posted on here, but I don’t think I told you that I got a call from the doctor’s office to book a follow-up appointment. The doctor told me on Monday if the blood test showed anything that the office would call me, and they have.

  2. Daughter is safely in the facility. They have already begun calling to ask if they can medicate her. Same meds she was on when she arrived. We allowed one, we will see how that works for her and if need be, add more at their suggestion. She has “participated” in group activity. Dodge Ball. Should be interesting. Prayer for wisdom for us and her doctors, and clarity for her.

  3. I got blood work results. I am very healthy except for too much calcium in my blood. I don’t drink milk. I do eat cheese. I have to give up eggs and green leafy vegetables and go back in a month.

  4. Mumsee, what Kim said. Psychiatric meds have some nasty side effects, but some need them to continue to function. My new inhaler has some nasty side effects of its own, but once again, I need it to function. Sixteen year old is older now, with an adult metabolism, so her body will be able to handle them a little better than when she was a child.

  5. Oh, I agree. I am just rather astonished they would have her figured out enough to medicate in just a couple of hours. Seems like one would want to talk with the parents and others and interact with the child to get a more complete picture before that.

  6. Yes, those drugs can be a lifesaver or they can lead to worse. Every body is so different and these drugs are so powerful. I do pray for wisdom for them and you, mumsee. I hope they are taking the time they need to really see just what is needed.

  7. My local friend Karen, when I thanked her today for all the prayers she offers up for you friends here and told her you are praying for her and her mom, welled up with tears of gratitude. Your prayers mean a lot to her. Thank you.

    Follow-up on her mom Valrie: she recently had cervical and endometrial biopsies, and was discovered to have a rare type of uterine infection. This is on top of an earlier urinary tract infection, followed by a bladder infection. Three different antibiotics needed for the three infections. She finishes one of the meds today and has the other two for two weeks.

    Valrie is also receiving physical therapy two times a week for the next three weeks, as she became so weakened after getting sick from the first antibiotic she was prescribed for the UTI, she could hardly get out of bed. Please pray for her strengthening.

    Please also pray for wisdom for her medical caregivers. She’s got an appointment with an OB-GYN surgeon today who will discuss having a D&C to get a better sample to check for underlying uterine cancer. Her cervical biopsy showed chronic inflammation.

    Thank you, all. Prayers for all above and more.
