Four. That is an even number. It is 3 + 1. We’ve had three weeks of these picks, and three different winners. Will this week make four of us? Or will there be a repeat. Try it for yourself, folks. Tychicus was last week’s winner, so he picked a good game for the tie breaker. It won’t be easy this time. Oh, and for the ladies, I picked the Hawai’i game, since their mascot is the colorful Rainbow. I did that because in the past, some of the ladies chose their picks based on the team colors. So how could they go wrong with a Rainbow? (Should I mention their uniforms are green and black with white?)
Okay, on with the game. Post your choices by Noon EDT Saturday (that’s 9:00AM for the Pacific coasters).
1 Texas Tech @ Houston
2 Army @ Tulane
3 Duke @ North Carolina
4 Cincinnati @ Navy
5 #17 Mississippi St @ #11 Georgia
6 Notre Dame @ Michigan State
7 Hawai’i @ Wyoming
8 UCLA @ Stanford
9 Pillow Fight: Georgia State (0-2) @ Charlotte (0-3)
10 Tie breaker: Pick winner and final score: #16 TCU @ #6 Oklahoma State
1. Texas Tech
2. Army
3. NC Tar Heels
4. Navy
5. Georgia Dogs are going to win here
6. Notre Dame Irish
7. Wyoming
.8. UCLA
9. Charlotte (I didn’t know they had a team.)
10. TCU 21-14
Mumsee: TCU is Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. Their unique mascot is the Horned toad.
Here I go (but not after careful consideration as Chas does):
Tx Tech
Army
Duke
Navy
Georgia (my alma mater mascot is a bulldog)
Mich St
Wyoming (I do like their colors, but that’s not why I’m picking them)
Stanford
Charlotte (only because they are at home)
Ok St 42-35
Horned toads are cool. I used to catch them as a child, and even had them as pets a couple of times (though I decided that wild-caught pets weren’t a good idea). If I choose the school that has them, and that school wins, what do I win for winning?
Yes, Kevin, you are correct that Tychicus won Weeks 1 & 3. I could just say I was testing to see if anyone reads the intro, but mumsee already said she does.
And here they are…
Aj wins with 7 correct. It was a tough week. In fact our average was only 4.7 correct out of 10. 47% is not good unless you’re counting batting averages in baseball. Only two people got the tie breaker game winner correct. TCU won that game 44-31.
Here are the rest of the scores:
6 correct – Kevin and Ricky
5 – Chas and I
4 – Debra, Kare, and Tychicus
3 – Mumsee and Janice
AJ gets to pick the next tie breaker game. I promise there will be a few more easy pickings this time. Too many upsets spoil the attitudes of participants.
According to my count, Ricky won with eight correct, and others had more correct than they were credited. Peter, are you sure you have the correct game scores?
Upon further review, I think I got seven, but I also think AJ beat me by one on the tie-breaker. I wouldn’t swear by it. As Peter said, it was a weird week.
Mea culpa! I rechecked and found I had marked the wrong winner in the Hawai’i vs Wyoming game. So everyone’s scores changed by one point up or down, depending on which of those teams they chose. Here is the new result:
Rickyweaver wins with 7.
6 correct: Chas, AJ and I
5 correct: Debra, Kevin and Tychicus
4: Mumsee and Janice
3: Kare
Sorry for the mistake. I just hope the same doesn’t ever happen for Hillary’s advantage.

I can’t believe anyone would choose a team based on its colors. In a toss-up, the architecture of the campus is much more important. :–)

Horned toads are not what you have in your garden, They are a type of lizard.
And I didn’t include Idaho because they play a pushover team this week.

I’ll try for a Tychicus two-fer. I assume you will include Clemson vs. Virginia Tech, but let’s make USC vs. Washington State the tie breaker.

Mumsee, we are doing our best to win last place, but I see that Kare won. 😣Maybe next time!
