It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.
Anyone else?
Psalm 23
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
prayer for Rkessler and Miguel.

Please pray for Miguel’s left eye. I am concerned he may have a detached retina. He is having difficulty seeing out of that eye, and is having flashes of light in the periphery. He hit that eye hard, and had stitches through the eyelid and brow. I have called for an emergency appt with and ophthalmologist, but they have not called back yet. I am also concerned about getting to use all the equipment available, as he is stuck in the wheelchair, and I can’t imagine an eye office having lift equipment to be able to sit in the chair, and have his legs elevated at the same time. Thank you.

Hubby still in hospital, having tests done. No news yet on what is causing the bleeding & clots. He was given some morphine for pain associated with it all.

After getting home late from the hospital last night, I had a hard time winding down enough to go to sleep, so I’m pretty tired today. I imagine Hubby didn’t get much sleep, either.
Today I’ve been dealing with the usual chores, & getting some stuff out of the way so when he comes home, I can focus on him. Also dealing with a bunch of emails telling some people about what has happened, & then texting with Hubby & Nightingale (who is at work, & will be home later than usual this afternoon/evening). Will be getting Little Guy from the bus stop in a little while.
This should probably go on the regular daily thread, but I haven’t even read yesterday’s comments yet.

RKessler – I thought our hour & a half drive to the hospital was bad enough, but your travels beat mine hands down, & then some. Can his further appointments be moved to a facility closer to home?

Kizzie, not till we see if the femur is going to fill in. Would rather stick with the same surgeon. When they put the shattered femur back together, the greater trocantor came together perfectly. The shaft where it shattered and was open, is a different story. He has a plate on the side, to which they attached the big pieces. The smaller pieces, they put in place the best they could, but no screw etc. It is better for it to maintain a good blood supply and pray that new bone grows to fill in. We don’t want to start over with someone not familiar with what was already done.

Kizzie, I have been holding you and Lee up in prayer. Also for your girls and little man.

Hubby says they seem more concerned about his heart, & his blood pressure has been pretty high. They put him on a new medication for that. The test to check out his bladder was cancelled for some reason. And he’s not coming home today.

Have they done an EKG (I imagine they did fairly early on). Not that it shows everything, but if something has happened it should have shown up there.

Carol was to see a surgeon this afternoon about a 2nd “hole” that has opened up in her abdomen (in addition to her long-standing fistula from the hernia operation of a few years ago). Lots of things going on in her body right now — and her potassium has dipped again, so she’ll be in the hospital for a while.

Kizzie, do your hubby’s doctors have him taking Coenzyme Q 10? It is protective of the heart, and our bodies naturally make it, but that production slows down for all of us as we age, so supplementing is often recommended. A friend of mine who had cancer was given CoQ10 to alleviate some of the deleterious effects chemo can have on the heart. (Not sure if all forms of chemo treatment have that same effect?)
Might not hurt to mention it to the doctors, asking if that might be good for him to take?
Praying.

Guess Carol’s doctors will visit her later tonight, she said they’d “wake her up,” she’s pretty groggy on lots of pain medications. Sounds like surgery may be possible fairly soon so I told her I’d check in with her tomorrow. Good thing she got her phone re-activated this week, texting is often easier than calling in these situations.
