Anyone have something to share?
Psalm 12
1 Help, Lord, for no one is faithful anymore;
those who are loyal have vanished from the human race.
2 Everyone lies to their neighbor;
they flatter with their lips
but harbor deception in their hearts.
3 May the Lord silence all flattering lips
and every boastful tongue—
4 those who say,
“By our tongues we will prevail;
our own lips will defend us—who is lord over us?”
5 “Because the poor are plundered and the needy groan,
I will now arise,” says the Lord.
“I will protect them from those who malign them.”
6 And the words of the Lord are flawless,
like silver purified in a crucible,
like gold refined seven times.
7 You, Lord, will keep the needy safe
and will protect us forever from the wicked,
8 who freely strut about
when what is vile is honored by the human race.
Kbell’s funeral today.

Yesterday. I was not able to go. I have contacted Tim and will send a gift for him and the Kid.
Several of you have mailed checks and I am waiting to put them all together.

Michelle needs a big new wall calendar 🙂
Prayers for my friend’s cousin, JD, in his 50s with teen kids, who has just been diagnosed with a brain tumor. No other details, other than he’s now in the hospital and family is devastated.

Amount doesn’t matter. Whatever you wish to send…it will all make its way to Tim and the Kid

Nightingale recently went to the dentist for the first time in several years. She needs a lot of work done, but hadn’t been in any discomfort. But today, a severe toothache has developed, & in a different tooth than the ones she already knows need fixing. I could tell she was in great pain by the look on her face, as she looked like she does when she has a particularly bad migraine.
Please pray the pain will subside to a tolerable level. She is working tonight & tomorrow. Don’t know when she’ll be able to get in to see the dentist.
(Wouldn’t it be cool if the pain miraculously went away, & I could tell her that is because we prayed?)

Thanks, Kim — my mom’s name was Eleanor 🙂 Guess it’s becoming newly popular again.

Does she have dental insurance? Even with insurance, dental work is so expensive 😦

You save a lot of money going in regularly and taking care of things when they are small things. It isn’t cheap, but well worth the little for regular check ups. We haven’t had insurance for years and it isn’t a fun thing to spend money on, but it is money well spent. Said by the person who just paid out a bit less than a thousand last week for that purpose.

Our work dental insurance (unlike our medical insurance) is still basically pretty good, we get 2 free (or nearly free) cleanings a year. Things like root canals and crowns will cost out of pocket but are partially covered I think. I’m grateful that I haven’t needed anything more than the cleanings for quite a few years now.

Nightingale has some dental coverage, but it’s not very good, so she’ll have to pay a lot out-of-pocket. She told me that she gets these toothaches now & then, but they only last a couple days, so she’s not worried, & will be getting the work done over a period of time.
Kathaleena – I agree. We didn’t have dental insurance for a number of years, but made sure all of us got our twice-yearly cleanings & check-ups. But since Nightingale has been an adult, she had not kept that up.

Carol’s off to Hollywood Pres Hospital again — long story, but apparently her fistula — the opening made when she had her hernia surgery maybe 3 years ago — was supposed to close on its own but never did and now is (they think) what’s causing all the skin issues. She had a lot of bloody and watery discharge today, much abdominal pain, so she’s waiting to be admitted.
Pray they can find what’s wrong, treat it — and close that fistula at long last. She kept telling me the doctor said it was “supposed” to stay open, and what did I know? Now she says, well, he said it would heal and close on its own. I have no idea why she never went back or mentioned that to one of her many doctors. One of them told her it was now “too late” and they couldn’t close it, but I’m hoping they can. She sounded pretty sick tonight, they think there’s now an internal infection.

Carol wound up not going to the hospital, they’re trying to hook her up with a specialist to see about a surgery to close that hole (but it would be a risky and kind of a big-deal surgery apparently). But she sounded better when I talked to her today (though she said it’s still bleeding).
