It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.
Anyone else?
Psalm 103:1-6
1 Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
6 The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed.
For some reason I wanted to listen to this and share it with you….

On Sunday mornings when the Psalms are read, after each portion, the congregation sings a chorus. When he came to our church he stated his goal was to get the congregation to sing.

Speaking of that: I needed that yesterday—along with wisdom and creativity. God provided and I am so grateful. Too often we forget how God longs to help us out. Good Fathers love to help out their children when they are able to do so. God is the perfect, best Father.

Oh, Stargazer and the job hunt. How many jobs has he applied for now? A very interesting proposition, right on his dissertation topic, has cropped up. He’s very interested, but what a long shot, however . . . but God . . .
My prayer for the last few months has simply been that God would put him where the Lord needs him to be. No strings attached.

Amen.
A couple of days ago, I put a request on the prayer thread for E, a young woman who has had a seizure disorder her whole life. She had her surgery yesterday, and her mom reported this last night:
“Surgery went really well today–lots of prayers answered! The surgeon was really pleased, and it looks as if we can go home tomorrow!
Thank you so much for your prayers!!”
And from me to all of you, thank you as well! This young lady means a lot to us, you have no idea how much — sometime I might tell you more about her 😉 — so I really appreciate your prayers on E’s behalf.

I had a very strong impression that nine year old daughter was in danger today, from fifteen year old son. She is in VBS and he is in town but not working today so he is volunteering today at VBS. I drove to town and talked with a couple of adults there, and they will up their vigilance and not allow him to take her off because the parents want them to meet us at….
Prayer for protection and wisdom. I may just be a lunatic but it was a very strong impression. I feel much better having forewarned.

As the mother of a daughter you cannot be too cautious. As I explained to BG once. Something can happen if you are in the wrong place with the wrong person that I cannot pay for enough therapy to fix.

My SIL used to say that an act of molestation can occur in as little as 30 seconds of an abuser being alone with the child. (That’s why I would always be at Mom’s house when she babysat Niece, & Uncle was visiting. SIL & I did not trust Uncle, but we didn’t want to tell Mom, who adored her older brother.)

And let’s not forget that boys are victims of that sort of abuse, too.

We are well aware of that here. Nine year old arrived safely at home all pleased with another fun day of VBS. She said older brother was helping in art and glued the knots of string art they did. Either I am a lunatic, or major problem was averted. I thank all of you and others for praying and God for watching over and keeping safe. We continue to be vigilant here.
