Anyone have something to share?
Psalm 56
1 Be merciful to me, my God,
for my enemies are in hot pursuit;
all day long they press their attack.
2 My adversaries pursue me all day long;
in their pride many are attacking me.
3 When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
4 In God, whose word I praise—
in God I trust and am not afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?
5 All day long they twist my words;
all their schemes are for my ruin.
6 They conspire, they lurk,
they watch my steps,
hoping to take my life.
7 Because of their wickedness do not let them escape;
in your anger, God, bring the nations down.
8 Record my misery;
list my tears on your scroll—
are they not in your record?
9 Then my enemies will turn back
when I call for help.
By this I will know that God is for me.
10 In God, whose word I praise,
in the Lord, whose word I praise—
11 in God I trust and am not afraid.
What can man do to me?
12 I am under vows to you, my God;
I will present my thank offerings to you.
13 For you have delivered me from death
and my feet from stumbling,
that I may walk before God
in the light of life.

I’ve been remiss to not mention my dear friend Renee, the one in Minnesota. (I have three Renees in my life who are dear to me.) She has been in need of surgery to repair her shoulder, but it has been delayed for various reasons, for several months. Her rotator cuff is now completely torn away. Needless to say, she is in a lot of pain, & even the pain meds they gave her don’t decrease the pain enough.
The last time the surgery was delayed was because, the day before surgery, they detected a problem with her heart, so she’s had to deal with that. (In the course of that, they discovered she has COPD.) She is now scheduled for surgery for May 11.
Please pray for a lessening of her pain while she awaits the surgery, & that there won’t be another delay, as well as for her health in general. Thank you.

Saturday morning clean up. Ten year old boy was supposed to be sweeping the dining room and the hallway. I came around the corner just in time to see him finishing with a flourish, dumping half of his dustpan into the living room, where I had just swept.

Very discouraged today. I thought the sciatica would be better by now. Hubby is angry about everything, the Kid is failing 8th grade, the house is filthy and there is nothing I can do about any of it.

I’m very sorry, KBells. A lot of stress all at once. So hard, everything you’re facing.
Thank you all for the prayers for safe travels. The journey there and back went fine. And 5th Arrow got the thrill of his life when his great-uncle R took son for a ride in his Corvette for the first time. The boy was very excited to report they got up to 80 mph. This mom is very thankful to have had friends praying for safe travels today!

I made it to work ok this morning..a white knuckle experience…solid ice until I got into town where the roads were just wet. Roads were equally miserable when I returned home this evening. I backed my car into a parking space next to the curb today. Along side the curb was a small boulder…it unknowingly to me fell against my car…as I pulled out of the space I heard a scraping…thinking it must be the ice accumulated under my car…then thinking…oh no…looked and there is a little dent, chipped paint and a nice long scrap along my car doors. Praying husband won’t have cow when he sees it…we just got the car back after three weeks having hail damage fixed….my goose is cooked!

Wait, the boulder moved? Hmmm

Well this boulder/rock sits precariously on river rock and has been tilted by someone, leaving a hole next to it. This happened while I was out of town last week…a co worker and I usually take turns parking in this spot. She told me tonight that last week it was hanging over in the parking spot…someone tilted it back…I’m not certain how it tilted back into my car, but I do know I backed into that spot twice today, arriving to work, leaving to go to the bank to make deposits, then backing into the spot again with no problem. When I left tonight I pulled straight out as before and the rock was on my door…that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it 🙂

Well, Nancy Jill, we were talking in Sunday School about creation praising God, and how Jesus said the stones would cry out if he told the people to be quiet 🙂 So, you just never know about stones.

Thanking you for all of your prayers, whether I request them or not. May I make some requests about things you could pray for me and my family for the month of May, if you think of it?
(And do know that I will be praying for you and yours, as well, with the things I know are ongoing matters.)
For immediate family:
~Hubby and me, health and finances.
~First Arrow, who will get to the end of his 6-month probationary period at his job in a couple of weeks. Prayers that his employer will keep him on after that.
~Second Arrow (and her fiance).
~Third Arrow, as she looks for a job.
~Fourth Arrow, safety as she begins to learn to drive.
~Fifth Arrow, now beginning puberty, and his developmental challenges.
~Sixth Arrow: no specific request, but she, like every other child, has needs, too.
For extended family:
~My parents, with back and other pain.
~My widowed mother-in-law, mostly healthy but getting more tired.
Music-related:
~As I teach my piano students.
~As I prepare 12 pieces for the Syttende Mai concert May 18.
And, overall, that we would not grow weary in doing good.
Thank you, friends.
(If anyone sees this and would like to paste it into the May 1 prayer thread at a better time of day than I’m posting it now, I would be most grateful.)
Blessings.
