  1. I don’t know if this is the appropriate place; it isn’t a rant nor rave. But not politics either. I pondered this from time to time and decided to comment on it.

In yesterday’s cartoon strip, one of the cartoons showed the martyrs from the Egyptian Christian massacre standing at the gate of Heaven. An alternate, though hard to present, would be one of a surprised and horrified terrorist who thought he was going to be greeted with 72 voluptuous virgins being cast into the pit.
He’ll spend eternity wondering how this happened.

The same could be said of some “Christian martyrs” during the crusades who believed what religious leaders in Rome told them..
I’m naturally skeptical, so when someone promised me such a reward in paradise, I would ask, “Why don’t you do it?”

  2. 😦 Hurtful words from another mother about my child

🙂 A good day at the beach yesterday. I lovely Saturday in the works to be spent with friends

    🙂 Children home for Easter.

  3. I read a study this morning saying 90,000 Christians per year have been martyred in the past ten years. That is 900,000 believers.

  4. Mumsee, I would think it is more for the last couple of years, with the Syrian conflict, Coptic Christians, and the atrocities of Boko Haram. Not to mention what is happening in Sudan. Then, there are the Muslim countries….not to mention North Korea and others.

  5. Plenty of people to pray for. That they would be filled with the peace of God and for their tormentors, that they would see and know the love of God.

  6. 🙂 Just got back from a really lovely 24-hour visit with my favorite brother and his wife (we haven’t seen them in about two years).

🙂 They were in Indiana for a week, with a really lovely large house to which they had access, so we had the odd privilege of being guests of guests–but it was on lovely grounds and spring is bursting out all over.

🙂 Eighty degrees in April. No, don’t warn me how hot it will be in July–I don’t frighten easily when it comes to heat, just cold.

🙂 Even with a short trip away, I’m still on track to visit my first big editing deadline a day early.

😦 I won’t get a break to celebrate before needing to jump right into another one.

🙂 Freelance tends to be feast or famine, and “feast” is better for income.

  7. 🙂 Found the outfit my husband will wear to the wedding – nothing like leaving it to the last minute!!

🙂 Good day shopping with him – fun, too.

😦 Sad week for the camp and for me

🙂 Kaitlyn is rejoicing in heaven

  8. 🙂 Watching cute, sweet grandson hunting for eggs in the yard. (The plastic kind filled with candy. When I was little, my parents hid the colored hard-boiled eggs.)

Nightingale got home from work last night around midnight, & then got busy filling the Easter baskets (for all of us), & hiding the eggs outside (in the dark!). Hubby woke up at 1:30 with a leg cramp, & saw her still up. (Then she had to be up early this morning to leave for work at 6:30.)

🙂 Hearing the church bells chime out the time, & the birds singing sweetly, as we were outside with Little Guy. (I love living where we can hear the church bells, & the trains that go through town.)
