Please pray for the safe release of Pastor Raymond Koh in Malaysia. Pray also for his wife Suzanna and their children. It has now been ten days since he was abducted, and his family has not heard any news regarding his situation.
Praise — Carol is now in a convalescent rehab for about 10 days before she can go home and was pressuring me for another visit this Saturday. But I have so many things to do (and it’s also our week for make casseroles for the homeless mission for church) that I was going to have to say no this time.
But I know how hard it is to be in those places and not have visitors; phone calls and texts just aren’t the same.
She told me last night that the prayer group from her home church in Downey had decided to come visit her on Saturday, they called and asked for the address of the facility, and she’s ecstatic. I hope nothing happens to keep them from coming, I think they’re all older people. I was so grateful that she’d get visitors (and more interesting ones than me as she’s probably too used to me by now 🙂 ). She sounded elated and now I can take care of all the things I wanted and needed to do on Saturday.
Pray that they make it up for the visit on Saturday and that at least one or two of them feels prompted to continue on with keeping in touch with her; it’s a little distance away from them, but it would really be such a good encouragement for Carol right now.
My father-in-law seems to be near the end of his life. My mother-in-law seems to be coming to terms with it, but it will be a radically hard adjustment for her. They married as teenagers more than 60 years ago. My husband and I have both been sick; though I am better now, because of the timing of our illnesses (not wanting to “give them” anything), we haven’t seen them in more than two weeks, maybe as much as three weeks. (We try to see them weekly, but I don’t remember what day of the week we saw them last, just that I woke up sick two weeks ago and it had at least been a few days at that point since we last saw them.) Up till this point everyone wanted him to reach his 80th birthday (in late March), but I think everyone is now understanding he probably will not. Our daughter is planning to travel out of state (college visits) all next week and I know for sure she will want to be at his funeral. So, I guess prayers that all of us will be able to have some sort of goodbye, that the end won’t be too difficult, and especially for my mother-in-law. Also for my sister-in-law and her husband, who have offered to move in for these last weeks, if Mom wishes them to. (They visit at least once daily and are very involved in his care. It’s pretty much they move in or Dad goes into care, and we have a hunch Mom would prefer their presence to Dad going to a nursing home, given a choice.)
Praying, also, for K, Kare’s friend. My oldest daughter is also 23, and that really hits home, hearing of one so young, and in the prime of life, suffering like that.
Keeping all concerns close in prayer….I am so sad for your mother in law Cheryl….it is such a difficult season of life…asking the Lord to hold you all close as He travels the road alongside of you and yours. ❤
I just got back from visiting K. She looked so much better. She had gone for a walk without oxygen, but then her O2 sats dropped to 89 😦 but she had energy and wanted to stand and practice breathing deeply. Still no biopsy results! It’s been 8 days!!!!
The lady at the office who had surgery on February 9th is finally able to be up. It has been a really rough recovery. Now she is scheduled for a biopsy in March. So it looks like she will not be back this tax season. Please pray for her, Judy, that she will continue to feel better and that the biopsy will show nothing of concern. Also please pray for Art and me, and my brother, to have stamina to meet the demands of this season. Thank you.

The Kid’s best friend’s cousin is missing. His mother found his locked car in a parking lot near a lake. Prayers that he is found safe.

K has cancer. She doesn’t know what type or stage yet. She will find out those details and hopefully a treatment regimen tomorrow at 10am.
