Prayer Requests 2-20-17

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 142

I cry aloud to the Lord;
    I lift up my voice to the Lord for mercy.
I pour out before him my complaint;
    before him I tell my trouble.

When my spirit grows faint within me,
    it is you who watch over my way.
In the path where I walk
    people have hidden a snare for me.
Look and see, there is no one at my right hand;
    no one is concerned for me.
I have no refuge;
    no one cares for my life.

I cry to you, Lord;
    I say, “You are my refuge,
    my portion in the land of the living.”

Listen to my cry,
    for I am in desperate need;
rescue me from those who pursue me,
    for they are too strong for me.
Set me free from my prison,
    that I may praise your name.
Then the righteous will gather about me
    because of your goodness to me.

  1. IN SS one time. Years ago. A guy asked if it is OK to pray against someone who was doing something.
    I said, “It’s an Old Testament thing. The Psalms are full of it.”
    I suspect about half of the Psalms are pleas against and adversary.

  2. Well, I think we have come to our senses and decided buying the house in Boise is in the too hard pile. Nice as it would be to be near the grandchild, we would be giving up a lot of positives in the lives of the children we have here.

  3. I was at the ICU with K today for about 3 hours. She slept the last hour and was still sleeping as her friend arrived and I left. I didn’t want to leave her alone as she said she doesn’t like that. She’s doing okay, they’re pumping her full of heparin and prophylactic antibiotics. Morphine is helping her painful breathing and oxygen is keeping her O2 sats around 96. Please pray that the blood clot will dissolve quickly and smoothly. She isn’t worried so much about the blood clot, but is anxious about her biopsy results which are still not known. She also does not have much of an appetite and well, you know hospital food…

  4. His fever came & went quickly, but today Nightingale suspects he may have a UTI, so she’s been having him drink lots of water to flush it out, if possible. If he still has trouble tomorrow, she will take him to the doctor after work (he has the day off from school). Not sure about the ear, but I think it’s still bothering him. Thanks for asking!

  5. AJ – I haven’t been to the blog yet today, so I only now saw a reference to Nosy in Janice’s prayer. I am so sorry! It hurts so much to lose a beloved pet.

  6. My old file cabinet awaits … Not looking forward to that chore.

    So Carol is being moved tomorrow to a convalescent/rehab for 10 days — her persistent UTI seems to be the result of E. Coli which will require some heavy IV antibiotics. She’s had so many surgeries for hernias, etc. in her intestinal area that everything in there has been short-circuited and doesn’t operate normally, so not a surprise really.

    Meanwhile, she has been begging for me to visit and to bring her birthday gifts (which she outlined for me on Saturday) to her early — her birthday isn’t until June. Sigh. I’m going to say no to that, it’s only been a couple months since I gave her what she asked for for Christmas PLUS some extra things. Maybe I’ll suggest she try to enjoy those gifts a bit more before asking for more? I really don’t know if she can’t help it or not, she’s so child like when it comes to that kind of thing, but she also seems to accept “no” so I think that’s what the answer will be this time.

    She can wait for her actual birthday to get a gift.
