Prayer Requests 1-25-17

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget to pray for The Gambia, and for Ajisuun as well.

Anyone else?

Psalm 118:1-16

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
    his love endures forever.

Let Israel say:
    “His love endures forever.”
Let the house of Aaron say:
    “His love endures forever.”
Let those who fear the Lord say:
    “His love endures forever.”

When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord;
    he brought me into a spacious place.
The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid.
    What can mere mortals do to me?
The Lord is with me; he is my helper.
    I look in triumph on my enemies.

It is better to take refuge in the Lord
    than to trust in humans.
It is better to take refuge in the Lord
    than to trust in princes.
10 All the nations surrounded me,
    but in the name of the Lord I cut them down.
11 They surrounded me on every side,
    but in the name of the Lord I cut them down.
12 They swarmed around me like bees,
    but they were consumed as quickly as burning thorns;
    in the name of the Lord I cut them down.
13 I was pushed back and about to fall,
    but the Lord helped me.
14 The Lord is my strength and my defense;
    he has become my salvation.

15 Shouts of joy and victory
    resound in the tents of the righteous:
“The Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!
16     The Lord’s right hand is lifted high;
    the Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!”

  1. I am dressed today. Clothes, shoes, hair, make-up, the works…oh no jewelry yet.
    I’ve got to do something. I will try to convince Mr. P to take me out to lunch today.

  2. Pray for Carol, her physical health has been declining noticeably in the past year and she called this morning and wants to call 911 again, said she thinks she’ll “die today.” I doubt that, some of her anxiety is psychological no doubt, but her physical condition isn’t good and I fear a life-threatening crisis could arise most any time. I told her better to be safe and call when in doubt.

    Update — she and the staff decided to wait for the doctor who comes at 3 p.m. today. From her text, it sounded like she was feeling a little better than she did when she called me 30 minutes ago.

  3. Please pray for Camp Kadesh. Sickness is almost overwhelming the director’s family – they’ve had one thing after another for a month and a half. The associate director is on his way home from a recruiting trip quite sick. His wife and I are having bad migraines today (I stayed home). K has the worrisome mass in her abdomen and is just waiting for a surgery date. It’s starting to feel like a major attack on the camp.
