Prayer Requests 1-2-17

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 96

Sing to the Lord a new song;
    sing to the Lord, all the earth.
Sing to the Lord, praise his name;
    proclaim his salvation day after day.
Declare his glory among the nations,
    his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
    he is to be feared above all gods.
For all the gods of the nations are idols,
    but the Lord made the heavens.
Splendor and majesty are before him;
    strength and glory are in his sanctuary.

Ascribe to the Lord, all you families of nations,
    ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
    bring an offering and come into his courts.
Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness;
    tremble before him, all the earth.
10 Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns.”
    The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved;
    he will judge the peoples with equity.

11 Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;
    let the sea resound, and all that is in it.
12 Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them;
    let all the trees of the forest sing for joy.
13 Let all creation rejoice before the Lord, for he comes,
    he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
    and the peoples in his faithfulness.

  1. Please continue to pray for my friend L. She is doing transfusions 3 x day for 3 weeks before she goes back to have the stents replaced in her kidneys. I can’t imagine.

  2. I wanted to give thanks to God for His continued mercy and kindness, and for yet another baby. I believe I mentioned my niece here was also expecting (due mid January), but she has safely delivered a healthy little girl this morning. They must have gotten the dates wrong with her because the baby is 10 lbs 2 oz! We are all rejoicing!

    Grandbaby Andy (in CO) has settled in at home and is doing well. We had always intended to go out to see them, but in late February or March hoping to see all the new grandchildren. Due to the premature births, we are trying to rearrange plans to go much sooner. So I’m hoping to hold Andy in late January or early February. Sooner is better, but I’ll take what I can get! :–)

    Grandbaby Abigail (in NV)is still in NICU. She is expected to be there for a little while, but all signs are very good for her. She is taking more milk and starting to grow stronger with no indications of lasting ill health so far. Son is doing well; DIL is up and down a bit (understandable). They named and cremated the twin who did not survive, and are making a place of honor for her in their home. Their 3 yr old was prepared for twins, and they have not told her everything yet. This is much harder on the parents than the child. Please pray for strength and wisdom here.

  3. Thanks for prayers during our four day wedding marathon/jaunt to Santa Barbara. Safe driving, lots of conversations and today, finally, a day off without deadlines for the first time in way too long!

  4. Prayers, ladies. Thanks for the updates.

    Two new contacts over the weekend, resulting in three possible accompanying/teaching leads. Two 7th graders who need an accompanist for their solos & ensembles pieces they will perform in late February. They have other names on their contact list, as well, so it may be another accompanist they ultimately choose.

    And one of the 7th graders has a younger sister for whom they are seeking a piano teacher. The inquiry email was sent to three other local teachers, as well, I see. I haven’t heard back from the sender yet, following my reply after I saw her email last evening.

    Pray as you are led. I so want these opportunities to come to fruition, almost to the point I wonder if I am coveting. Most importantly, I guess, just pray that God’s will be done, and for my attitude if it all falls through.

    Thank you much.

  5. Prayer for husband as he heads off to Los Angeles. Prayer for us as we still deal with fallout from the grandbaby visiting. It put fifteen year old into a tailspin. I found the younger three in their bedrooms, punching out the screens over their windows and throwing toys out into the snow. That was the day after grandbaby left. I did try to maintain their schedules of sitting with me but apparently jealousy is an ugly thing.

  6. I would have thought with 15 children you would have already conquered that green eyed monster. I can only imagine. Jealousy isn’t rational is it?

  7. Please pray for me as I hurt my back yesterday and travel back to Ukarumpa tomorrow. Should not have lifted that suitcase. I went out for a long five mile walk to keep it loose, took lots of advil, and still am, and the heating pad helped as well as a hot shower. I do not want to be bedridden with a hurt back. I will continue to take advil for the inflammation.

  8. Jo – I recently read that staying in bed for a hurt back is actually bad for it. But I guess there may be exceptions to that, depending on the injury. Praying your back will heal quickly.

  9. I should’ve posted this earlier, but hope some of you will read it in time to pray….
    Lindsey and Scott’s relationship is very fragmented. We have a family therapy session tonight from 6;30-7:30. Lindsey was refusing to go, but just told me she has decided to join us. Please pray it would go well….

  10. Praying, Ann. I’m glad Lindsey decided to join you. May great benefits be realized from the session.

    Jo, I hope your back pain will be relieved soon, and that your flight goes well, too.

    Mumsee, hang in there. And I know you do/will.
