Prayer Requests 12-19-16

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 84

How lovely is your dwelling place,
    Lord Almighty!
My soul yearns, even faints,
    for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and my flesh cry out
    for the living God.
Even the sparrow has found a home,
    and the swallow a nest for herself,
    where she may have her young—
a place near your altar,
    Lord Almighty, my King and my God.
Blessed are those who dwell in your house;
    they are ever praising you.

Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
    whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.
As they pass through the Valley of Baka,
    they make it a place of springs;
    the autumn rains also cover it with pools.
They go from strength to strength,
    till each appears before God in Zion.

Hear my prayer, Lord God Almighty;
    listen to me, God of Jacob.
Look on our shield, O God;
    look with favor on your anointed one.

10 Better is one day in your courts
    than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
    than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
    the Lord bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does he withhold
    from those whose walk is blameless.

12 Lord Almighty,
    blessed is the one who trusts in you.

  1. Our problems with BG are far from over. Getting off of probation was not a good thing for her. She wasn’t raised to act this way. I am taking her to work today, but her father is going to get her after work. He and I discussed that maybe it would be better for her to hit bottom sooner rather than later.

  2. Hillary and my daughter both fly home today. Hill all the way to Sicily and after a nearly 6 week furlough, she’s emotionally torn in two. (Jo will empathize). I told her Saturday night I might come over to say goodbye, but I’m not sure I can handle it–except she has something of mine I need to pick up.

    Please pray for safe travels for both of them.

    My attitude is flailing as well. I think I’ll go read Scripture.

    Thanks.

  3. Oh, Kim, such hard times for you right now. Lots of us praying for that young woman. I know from experience that God will teach you so much through all this. It is not easy learning for any of us. Prayers that you will see good come from all of this one day, in addition to your knowing God’s love right now.

  4. Please pray that my re-re-injured back/hip will heal well & soon. (Those two “re-“s were not a mistake. The second re-injury was worse than the original injury. 😦 ) I have to be slow, careful, & deliberate with a lot of things I do so as to not aggravate it. But there a few things that I have to do (no work around) that aggravate it a bit each time. Other back muscles are sore from my holding myself differently to protect the injured muscle (or whatever it is).

    It is beginning to get a little better, but I can tell it is going to be a slow recovery, & I will have to be careful about what I do for quite a while. Please pray I will not accidentally or carelessly do something to re-re-re-injure it. (The second re-injury was from doing something I had no idea would hurt like that. Well, now I know!) Thanks & God bless!

  5. Well, he has arrived! Grandson Andy came this weekend. He’s a solid month premature so he’s small at 4lbs 12oz. He is in NICU and expected to have to stay there for a couple of weeks. He’s strong but has got some respiratory issues and they are monitoring his blood sugar, so he could use your prayers.

  6. We all think we have problems. There is a house in my little 2 street neighborhood. This afternoon there was a disturbance with the rented house. The woman of the house went to my across the street neighbor and apologized to him, then she came over to let Mr. P and me know that she had addressed the situation with her ex husband and his father and it would not happen again. She had cancer several years ago and was told she would not be able to have any more children. She had a baby induced a month early in October because the cancer is back. Now she has 4 children and the father of the baby left her because “he can’t deal with the cancer and chemo”. The 3rd child she has belongs to her ex-husband but is not hers. She is raising him because his mother did not want him and he is her children’s half brother.
    She is taking chemo 5 times per week right now and her mother is helping her. Her ex-husband has also been helping her. Mr. P and I volunteered to help and Mr. P told her he was an ex corpsman so if she needed anything medical done at home he could help her.
    Please pray for this woman. It just seems like more than any one person should have to handle at Christmas but she seems to be doing it.
