Prayer Requests 11-16-16

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget to pray for The Gambia, and for Ajisuun as well.

Anyone else?

Psalm 46

¹God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth.

He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

  1. I managed to offend my brother on the phone yesterday. Had no idea I had caused offense until twenty minutes after we hung up when he sent me a text outlining how I’d hurt him significantly by my words. I responded to text, apologizing for my poor phrase choice, stated I had meant no offense and was sorry. Text shows it’s been read, but I’ve had no reply from him.

I’m going home Sunday….until the following Saturday. I’m currently estranged from two of my three brothers….not looking forward to being around a bunch of people whom I have to walk on eggshells around. I could use many prayers…

  2. Been there, Ann. I found talking about genealogy helped. My brothers and father thought I was crazy, but it refocused them and calmed them a little bit. When they returned to the argument it was a little less heated because I reminded them of what we have in common.

  3. November 16

Who is in the driver’s seat? Am I making conscious decisions, or am I making decisions unconsciously? I see that I sometimes still have an inner child who learned unrealistic rules and who has needs that have gone unfulfilled. When faced with decisions, I must make them with the awareness of today, not based on the erratic rules of my childhood. Just as I would would not allow a nine-year-old child to drive me to work, so I will not face life with my child self in the driver’s seat.
I resolve today to make choices which are good for me. I will not feel compelled to live my life today based upon my needs of yesterday. I will decide what path to take based on my needs today.

Kim: Um….I am still processing this one based on my Monday and Tuesday. You are on your own with this one.

  4. I understand, Ann. I am heading to an ‘eggshell’ place this morning. I am reminding myself of God’s love for all of us and his resurrection power available to me. Praying with thankfulness.

  5. Thankful for that news, Ann. That must be such a relief!

Praying for the relationships with your brothers, too. We’ve had similar extended-family eggshell-walking situations, too, in the past. Never easy.
