Prayer Requests 11-1-16

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 32

¹Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.

For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.

I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.

Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.

10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about.

11 Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

  1. Prayers please: I’m having a lot of anxiety, along with nightmares, lately. Any time I have extensive dealings with my family of origin–and there have been numerous group texts and emails for last three weeks– I struggle to maintain my emotional equilibrium. Right now, I’m failing pretty badly…..

  2. We have you Ann. I am only a phone call away if you need to talk. You know your triggers.
From the November 1, Daily Affirmations for Adult Children of Alcoholics:

TODAY I HONOR THE PAST, THE PRESENT, AND THE FUTURE
Today I honor the past for lessons. My experiences have brought me to a level of awareness that my otherwise not have been possible.
I can let go of resentments and realize that my parents did the best they could. As I look at the past, I feel of sense of wonder in my own healing process.
I honor the present for all the rich experiences. When I can live in the moment, I can be a full participant in life. I embrace all experiences fully, and I am available to feel a wide range of emotions.
I honor the future for dreams and visions. I am becoming the kind of person that I want to become. My ability to dream and to think magically helps me use every crisis as a vehicle to take me in the direction I want to go. When I can envision a better existence I can embrace uncertainty with courage.

  3. My friend R posted on Facebook that his wife, my friend L has been admitted to the hospital this morning. I am not sure what is going on, except that she is a cancer survivor, she has had some medical issues the past few years with a major symptom being vertigo. I know she has recently had several infections, which when you are a cancer survivor are cause for alarm. I would appreciate prayers for both of them. (Michelle, you know who they are 😉 )

  4. Prayer for wisdom here and especially that I can release fifteen year old boy to God. I keep finding myself trying to step in and work on his character and that is not going to happen. My purpose at this point is to make food available at regular times (he is not here at most of those times) and a bed either indoors or outdoors. I also offered him a warmer coat (a military coat) which he left out on the porch. He put his somewhere and does not know where. He left most of his breakfast this morning: fried eggs with cheese, toast with cream cheese, banana, apple juice. He must be getting food somewhere. He has short school days this week and one nonschool day so he probably won’t be here very much. The later he comes home at night, the earlier I get him up in the morning. This morning was five thirty. I think he got home some time before midnight but the house was locked up. I left him a sleeping bag on the porch. He prefers to walk to and from school so the bus has been canceled for him.

  5. Prayers for all. I understand, Ann. Remember to catch every negative and untruthful thought and replace it with the truth found in scripture.

So difficult to watch someone you love act so foolishly, mumsee. We see what must be the heart of God when we do that. Such grief!

  6. Continuing prayers for Karen, of course. The stress is catching up with me. I feel like I need to go chop wood or plow the lower forty. I can’t do anything to help at this point. It is sad to see her husband, a doctor, who can’t do anything, and probably is not a believer. I know he would rather be at work where he can at least help gets suffering from PTSD. Pray for His patients who suffer in his absence. They have seen him for years and need his presence in their lives.

My other best friend from childhood has a fourteen year old great nephew who has Stage 4 Ewing Sarcoma. And her Father-in-law, a retired ordained Missionary Baptist pastor who officiated at my wedding, is in Hospice. So prayers for them, too. My friend’s name is Sherrie.

    Thank you for prayers.

  7. So much pain expressed on this thread. I am very sorry, and am praying for all of you and these situations.

My sister and family made it safely back home early this morning. Thank you for the prayers.

Also thanks to those who saw and prayed for my middle-of-the-night request on yesterday’s prayer thread. I am a little dehydrated and headachy today, but am managing alright being up and around, and it appears the worst is over. Thankfully, no one else is sick, so I think it was just something I ate Sunday — including a different dish I’ve not had before — that probably caused the trouble for me.

Slow but steady improvement today. Thank you for those prayers.

  8. Please pray for the relationship between our camp and several others with whom we work to develop themes and choose our Scripture verses with for the coming season. There seems to be some misunderstanding going on. Thank you.

  9. Little Guy is having an MRI tomorrow for his elbow. Since he needs to be absolutely still, he will be under anesthesia. Please pray there are no bad effects from the anesthesia, & that the MRI will tell the doctors what they need to know. Thank you.
