Prayer Requests 10-20-16

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 22:1-11

¹My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

O my God, I cry in the day time, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.

But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.

They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.

But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.

All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

He trusted on the Lord that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.

But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother’s breasts.

10 I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother’s belly.

11 Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.

  1. Praying for you both, Kbells.

Had my one-week post-op appointment this morning. (Have one last post-op in three weeks. Then I should be cleared to go back to my regular eye doctor for a new prescription for glasses.)

My vision is much improved from last week’s post-op, but still not where it should be. The problem is the dryness in my eye, probably caused, or exacerbated, by the fact that I cannot completely close my right eye. Dr. G said my cornea is “roughed up” from the dryness, but does look better than it did last week. To combat the dryness, I need to increase the number of times I use the gel drops each day.

Thanks for your prayers. Please know that I pray for every request that is posted.

Oh, & Nightingale came home safe last night. She has decided not to see this man again.

  2. My mom had to have a blood transfusion today. Her blood pressure, which is usually quite high even on medication, had dropped to 110/52, her pulse was low and she was experiencing dizziness when they told us her hemoglobin was 8.0. She initially refused the transfusion — she was worried about getting AIDS–but after talking to my brother, who’s an anaesthesiologist , she consented to the procedure. It took about four hours for the transfusion — but she looked so much better once it was completed. And, her vital signs had all improved significantly.
