The Presidential election is essentially over. Trump revealed his true self (ignorant, unprepared, and out of control) in the debate and the Twitter war with the beauty queen that followed.
Now begins the aftermath: the battle for the heart and soul of conservatism and the Republican Party. On Tuesday, Pence gave us a taste of what might have been had we nominated a sane conservative instead of a deranged liberal. Yesterday, Hannity (the nastiest of the Trumpkins) attacked one of the actual journalists who works at Fox.
Pence stopped the downward momentum. If Trump can avoid a catastrophe in the last 30 days and not self-destruct in either of the last two debates, he may keep the margin within 4-5 points. That would give the GOP Senate candidates in tight races a chance. That is also asking a lot.
