Week 5. By now some teams are out of the running for the big prize, like LSU and Notre Dame. Can they salvage something of the season? Find out Saturday. For now, guess the winners of the following ten games, including a Tiger match-up in Baton Rouge and an Irish visit with the Orange. Also, Tychicus chose the other Red River Rivalry for the tie breaker with the Cowboys hosting the Longhorns. Chose the winner and guess the score on that game. It could get you the opportunity for bragging rights.
Get your picks in by Friday evening 9:00 PM EDT!
1. #7 Stanford @ #10 Washington-Friday night lights in Seattle which will have a deciding factor in the PAC 12.
2. Navy @ Air Force – The first in the Commander in Chief trophy games.
3. #11 Tennessee @ #25 Georgia – Can the Volunteers continue to dominate other SEC teams? The Dawgs at least get the home field.
4. Purdue @ Maryland – I thought Chas would prefer this one over the South Carolina game against Texas A&M.
5. #8 Wisconsin @ #4 Michigan – The big game in the B1G 10.
6. Mizzou @ LSU – Two SEC Tigers who haven’t had much to roar about lately.
7. #3 Louisville @ #5 Clemson – Can Louisville keep up its trend of bringing down top teams?
8. Utah State @ #24 Boise State – Since everyone picks the Broncos when I have them here, I thought I’d include them again.
9. Notre Dame @ Syracuse – The Irish were embarrassed by Duke last week at home. Can they regroup on the road?
10.Choose winner and final score Tie Breaker: #22 Texas @ Oklahoma St. – The Longhorns are ranked again. The Cowboys aren’t. Let’s see if that stays the same.
Chas’ wild guesses:
Washington’
Air Force
Georgia (Ratings don’t matter & Athens is a tough place to play.)
Go Boilermakers (Maryland needs to stay out of the Big Ten)
(Thanks BTW for not making me choose SC over A&M) (cry)
Michigan
I chose the Tigers again. Mizzou
Louisville
Go Boise
Syracuse over the once great.
Longhorns beat the Cowboys this time 21-7
Chas- You’re welcome. I also didn’t include Arizona this week because they’re playing at the Coliseum against UCLA. I couldn’t bring myself to choose in that one.
Washington (the old Boise coach, Peterson)
Navy
Tennessee
Maryland (one of our children was born there)
Wisconsin (ancestral home)
LSU (they have a new coach)
Louisville
Boise
Notre Dame
Texas 31-21
After the day games the winner will either be RickyW or Kbells. They are tied with 7 each. The Louisville vs Clemson game will be the deciding game. Ricky chose Clemson, kbells chose L’ville.
Unbelievable. I just finalized the results and Ricky got ALL 10 correct!!! Good job! He even came the closest on the tie breaker. I think that is a first for someone to do that. I’d check, but I don’t have all the data from the old blog.
Here are the blog scores:

kbells and Tychicus 9

Sorry, kbells. I was hoping Louisville would pull it off in the end, but that motion penalty cost them the game.
Congratulations, Ricky. What’s the next tie breaker to be, The Red River Showdown?

Yes. Texas vs. Oklahoma.
Good job, KBells! 9 out of 10 on a day like yesterday was really good. We even picked the Yankee games correctly.

I got nine out of ten as well, but lost out on the tie-breaker game b/c the Longhorns have a Swiss cheese defense.

Tychicus, My wife and I knew Vance Bedford in the late 70s. I feel for him, but I needed that bad performance yesterday.
