Prayer Requests 8-20-16

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 118:1-17

¹O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.

Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

Let them now that fear the Lord say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

I called upon the Lord in distress: the Lord answered me, and set me in a large place.

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?

The Lord taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.

It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.

It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.

10 All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the Lord will I destroy them.

11 They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.

12 They compassed me about like bees: they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.

13 Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but the Lord helped me.

14 The Lord is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.

15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the Lord doeth valiantly.

16 The right hand of the Lord is exalted: the right hand of the Lord doeth valiantly.

17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.

  1. Please continue praying for my 15-year-old daughter (4th Arrow). So many mysteries with just what is going on with her. More test results due back approximately Tuesday. Thank you so much.

  2. Saw this morning that Little Guy’s other grandmother posted a video on Facebook in which Stephen Fry, British actor, comic, & atheist, ranted about how horrible the Christian God is (for instance, allowing bone cancer in children), & he ended up calling Him a maniac. I know that Grandma’s husband has similar hostile feelings towards God. He even has a tattoo that is an atheist symbol. I pray for their salvation, & I also pray that Little Guy would have such a heart for God that their possible negative influence may puzzle him, but won’t turn him away from belief. Another job for the Holy Spirit.

  3. Two prayer requests this morning:

Please pray for healing of Hubby’s knee. It has been pretty painful this morning. Don’t know if that is from his arthritis or something else.

And please pray for Little Guy, & for us as we take care of him. His anger is coming out directed at us, me specifically. He told me he hated me the other day. I understand that of all of us, I am the one who is almost always here, so I guess I am the safest one to take his anger out on.

(The day after telling me he hated me, he couldn’t wait to come in & show me the new clothes & shoes his mommy bought him for school. 🙂 )

  4. Thank you for the prayers.

His meltdown was short-circuited, after going on for several minutes, by a suggestion that we take a car ride. After that, he was sweet as pie, & he even expressed that he was sorry. (I asked him if was sorry for lashing out at us, & he said yes. His tone of voice indicated to me that he really was sorry.)

Nightingale says that since “the incident” all of his emotions are stronger & “bigger” than before.

Please continue to pray for Hubby’s knee, & for his spirits. He stayed off the knee as much as possible today, but it is still very painful when he moves it a certain way. He has to work tomorrow, which involves a lot of walking as well as driving.

As for his “spirits”, he was very down this evening, feeling overwhelmed with things that he needs to do in/around the house, & some other matters. Now I am feeling overwhelmed by some things he said, as well as situations with our daughters, & of course, our Little Guy. Lifting it all up to the Father.
