Prayer Requests 8-11-16

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 108

¹O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.

Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.

For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds.

Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and thy glory above all the earth;

That thy beloved may be delivered: save with thy right hand, and answer me.

God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.

Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;

Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe; over Philistia will I triumph.

10 Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?

11 Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off? and wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our hosts?

12 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

13 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

  1. I just got off the phone with Nana. It seems that BG isn’t doing as well as I had been hoping. She doesn’t feel like she has a home and even though she keeps telling everyone she is OK she deep down does feel like I rejected her.

  2. Kim, you have not rejected her. Deeper down, she knows that. You and her dad and Nana have always been there for her and always will be. Persevere, she will figure it out. She still has the idea that if you love her, you will do what she says. She will learn. We will pray with you.

  3. Heavenly Father,

    Thank You for the changing of seasons and the new school year. Thank You for the educational opportunities You have thus far provided for children in the USA. I pray for our schools to get back to the basics and essentials for an excellent education that Common Core can not provide with its dumbing down and adding confusion to what should be straightforward. Please bless teachers with wisdom from above. Help them to all be serious in their calling to teach and to not use their position to brainwash to a political age da. I ask for children in other lands to be given opportunity to receive a good education. Please remove any who are in bad situations because of oppresive government or people with evil intent.

    Tha k You, Lord, for Jo and the blessing she is to all her stude ts and the faculty. Please encourage her by Your many ways of reaching into her life. I ask that You let her feel Your presence in tangible ways, please give her a multitude of creative ideas the will motivate her stude ts to learn with joy, please help the students bless her back with appreciative and humorouscomments, may she receive aconsta t flow of funding that covers more than just the basics, and please help her to have an accepting attitude toward any changes deemed necessary because of security concerns. I ask forYourconstant watch over their compound so that evil inte t is always thwarted before harm even threatens. I pray the weather will be fair and rain provided as needed. Thank You, also, for Your care given to Jo’s stateside loved ones.

    Lord, I lift up Mumsee and the Nest for Your best blessings of peace, hope, joy, and love to become the overflowing atmosphere of the home. Please give harmonious feelings coupled with respect. I pray that they will have a good school year and that their animals will be a blessing as they meet the needs of the Nest. Please may the pantry alwaysbe stocked with good and healthy foods. May Mike and Mumsee be blessed with good health and more together time.

    Lord, please help BG to get a wide angle view of her whole situation a d to break from the habit of focusing in on the basically trivial unpleasantries that accompany all human life on earth. Help her to grow her sense of ac eptance and love through Christ that thoroughly covers any real or false sense of rejection on the worldly level. Please carry her forward emotionally to a better place even if it means picking her up off her feet and carrying her through barriers she has built in her mind.

    Thank You for Your big listening ears, again, in Jesus, Amen

  4. Being a bit of a worried mama bear today. Yesterday two ladies from DCF, one of whom specializes in advising victims of domestic violence in safety strategies, were here, talking about the situation & giving some of that safety advice (some of which we had already implemented).

    This morning Nightingale & Little Guy went out for a walk on some hiking trail. That in itself may not have been a good idea, besides the obvious reason, because we have very high heat & humidity today, along with a warning to stay out of the heat.

    I texted her about 45 minutes ago, asking if they were okay. No answer yet. I’ve not totally given in to worry yet, though, because her phone doesn’t always receive texts right away, or she may be doing something & not realize she has a text, or she may be driving.

    But, yeah, I am a tad worried. Prayers, please.

  5. Well, I finally decided to just give her a call rather than a text. It went straight to voice mail, which indicates to me that her battery has died. I’m going to suggest to her that she keep her phone well-charged when she goes out.

  6. I did not mention it yesterday, but I went out for about an hour to the library. When I got home, the door was ajar. I don’t know if I left it that way since I was in a hurry to make it to the library before it closed, or if someone came in the housei in my absence. My first thought was Miss Bosley might be gone. I called, and she came from upstairs. That was a big relief. Then I walked through the house mumbling that anyone would have to be crazy to want to come into our.messy house. That gives a clue as to my state of mind at that point. We have nothing anyone would want. I would think they might like Miss Bosley, but then again, she has been trained to be a bitey and scratchy cat so that factor quickly would decrease her value to any catnapper.

  7. Janice – I understand your relief. One day not too long ago, Heidi had jumped on the back door from outside, knocking it open a few inches. As I came around the corner from the kitchen, I saw Rudy (the kitty who used to like to escape when he could) half in & half out the door, & I started to panic a bit. By some miracle, he paused when he saw me, & then he backed up back into the house. Phew! I kept saying, “Thank You, Jesus!”
