Prayer Requests 7-13-16

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget to pray for The Gambia, and for Ajisuun as well.

Anyone else?

Psalm 82

¹God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.

How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.

Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.

Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.

They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.

  1. Thank you for praying for my friend’s sore throat to go away. It has completely disappeared!

She is now having swelling in her legs so any prayers for relief in that area are appreciated. I know it is a little thing, but if you could pray that her cats would come out of hiding when I take care of them, that would be great. I still have only seen Rocket. Romeo and Ruthie are still hiding when I visit.

  2. With what happened last Wednesday night, we’ve all been mostly concerned for Little Guy. 1st Daughter is not one to show her emotions much, & I often have trouble reading her. When I asked her how she is doing, she said she has felt more stressed & tired than usual.

Last night, when she spent some time with her boyfriend, he had casually laid his hand on her shoulder, & his thumb ended up resting towards the front of her throat. That caused her to feel panicky, & she told him to please move his hand. (Did I tell you that R had been choking her? I’m pretty sure I mentioned him grabbing her throat.)

Praying God will use this trauma to draw her to Him.

Also. . .Boyfriend, who is 34, has expressed to her that he is serious about their relationship. I’m praying that if he is not the one God has for her, that He would cause their feelings for each other to fade. (That happened with her last boyfriend.)

  3. This just happened. . .Forrest said something about R being in jail, & when we told him he’s not anymore, he started to kind of whimper/cry (kind of between the two).

  4. Karen, you will help him heal more quickly if you do not focus on R being a bad guy. The little fellow will idolize his dad, which is normal. You want normal for him. But if you tell him R is a bad guy or he thinks you think he is, you will become the bad guy.

  5. We are not telling him his dad is a bad guy. Little Guy is the one who has said his dad is a bad man. (He said that another time, a couple years or so ago, when R had been acting mean towards 1st Daughter.) I don’t want to poison his mind against his father, but R is doing a good job of that himself.

  6. Yesterday, while I was babysitting him, he made up a “game” where one of us would hold our throat as if we were being choked, & the other would come to the rescue by punching & vanquishing the imaginary (& unnamed) bad guy. I played that with him (as I thought that it was his way of dealing with the fear), but I felt so sad for him. He really is a sweet little boy, & I hate seeing him hurt like this.

  7. We are trying to keep a positive view of all bio dads and moms alive in our children. Sometimes they think life with bios would be much better than here and sometimes not. But we want them to be able to return to their bio folks as strong capable people, not falling under the power of abuse again, but able to see the positives.

I did not think you were, just warning against concurring with the little fellow.
