Prayer Requests 7-12-16

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 81

¹Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.

Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.

Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.

For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.

This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.

I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots.

Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.

Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me;

There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.

10 I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

11 But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me.

12 So I gave them up unto their own hearts’ lust: and they walked in their own counsels.

13 Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!

14 I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.

15 The haters of the Lord should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.

16 He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.

  1. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your felt presence as we go through both good and bad times. May we grow deeper gratitude, love, trust, and faith as each experience stretches us to know what it means to be covered by the blood of Jesus, constantly being cleansed as we confess sins and turn away from sin over and over to correct and fine tune our walk with You. Thank You for sanctification and the mercy and grace found within that doctrine. I do not think that doctrine is found outside of Christianity and realm of Your all encompassing love.

My prayer list grows longer and longer, Abba, and seems so weighty with tragedy such as what is happening in our nation. Please protect police officers and all those who have dealings with the violent haters in our world. Please remove stones and bullets from hardened heart thinking as ways to deal with enemies. May a light shine upon You and how all human life is made in Your image. May people learn more of Your love and goodness and have positive feelings toward You. A lack of love for You is the foundation from which a hate for the people of Your creation develops. Please open blind eyes and hearts to reality that includes You as sovereign over all. Please show Yourself in undeniable ways.

Lord, I pray You will take good care of Kim and Mr. P as they travel to and from the facility where he receives treatment. Please make an easy procedure that has no complications. May the doc and tech assistants and other staff each do an exemplary job that fully utililizes their skills. May they have complete focus on what they are to accomplish so nothing is neglected or overdone. Thank You for a good outcome that depends upon Your careful watch and guidance. Please steady Kim as she waits during the procedure and recovery. May the relief based on a successful procedure be so great that Mr. P can be weaned off any pain meds except for an occasional over the counter med if necessary. Please help not only in healing from surgical procedures, but please heal the fractures in their relationship. May they both stand upon the firm foundation which is only You, as their Rock, and rebuild where they have.need of repair to their loving marital relationship. You know each spot in their hearts that has been wounded. Please remove the fiery darts of the evil one that have lodged and need complete extraction. Please, get each splinter that tries to hide. You are our healing God. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen

  2. Please pray for the full time staff at camp. We’re already exhausted and a few of us have caught the traditional camp cold. Pray for encouragement, especially for T, and that the board will step up and take on some of the responsibility that they agreed to take on (i.e. fundraising).
    Thank you.

  3. Monsoon rains in Nica mean fewer mosquitoes–though it cleared for them to go down river yesterday–where they provided eyeglasses to 195 people by lunchtime! The most ever in just the morning.
