  1. What would AG Lynch have done if the Orlando shooter had pledged his allegiance to Jesus Christ? Would that have been wiped clean from his statement?

    Too funny….

“The folks at Maxon Shooter Supplies and Indoor Range, who claim to be TAH fans, send us a link to the story about them in the Chicago Sun Times, wherein the Times sent Neil Steinberg, one of their reporters, to write about his experience buying and firing an evil black, scary gun (known in journalistic circles as an assault rifle). Steinberg does the handwringing thing about guns and journalistic integrity thing during his drive to Des Plaines, Illinois to the Maxon “lemonade stand” as the owner described it to me.

Driving to Maxon Shooter’s Supplies in Des Plaines on Wednesday to purchase my first assault rifle, I admit, I was nervous. I’d never owned a gun before. And with the horror of Sunday’s Orlando massacre still echoing, even the pleasant summer day — the lush green trees, fluffy white clouds, blue sky — took on a grim aspect, the sweetness of fragile life flashing by as I headed into the Valley of Death.

Earlier, in my editor’s office, I had ticked off the reasons for me not to buy a gun: this was a journalistic stunt; done repeatedly; supporting an industry I despise. But as I tell people, I just work here, I don’t own the place. And my qualms melted as I dug into the issue.

    He needn’t have worried – after he filled out the paperwork paid for his Smith & Wesson M & P 15 Sport II there was a waiting period, during which his purchase was rejected by the gun dealer;

I was looking forward to shooting my new rifle the next day. I’ve shot guns. It’s fun. I was worried though, about having fun with guns in the current environment of outrage and horror. Had I been co-opted by the purchase process? By the friendly staff at Maxon’s? […]

At 5:13 Sarah from Maxon called. They were canceling my sale and refunding my money. No gun for you. I called back. Why? “I don’t have to tell you,” she said. […]

A few hours later, Maxon sent the newspaper a lengthy statement, the key part being: “it was uncovered that Mr. Steinberg has an admitted history of alcohol abuse, and a charge for domestic battery involving his wife.”

    Well, didn’t see that coming.”

  3. Sheesh. Pervert police who like underage hookers on the left coast, corrupt hooker lovin’ police on the right.

“Three members of the NYPD were busted Monday morning for taking payoffs — including a free hooker — in exchange for doing favors for a deep-pocketed fund-raiser for Mayor de Blasio.

FBI agents and cops arrested Deputy Chief Michael Harrington, Deputy Inspector James Grant, and Sgt. David Villanueva.

Harrington was assigned as a senior chief in the NYPD’s Housing Bureau. Prior to that, he was second-in-command in the office of then-Chief of Department Phillip Banks.

Grant was the commanding officer of the 19th Precinct on the Upper East Side. Villanueva was assigned to the gun licensing division.

Jeremy Reichberg, a Brooklyn-based diamond merchant and prominent donor for the mayor, was also arrested, court records show.

“They [Reichberg and friends] got, in effect, a private police force for themselves and their friends — effectively they got cops on call,” said Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara. “Days like today are not pleasant or easy for people in the business of law enforcement. An officer who betrays his badge betrays every honorable officer, as well as every member of the public.””

  4. Solutions in search of a problem, right?

    http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2016/06/20/dirty-secret-about-four-senate-gun-control-bills.html

“In Orlando on Thursday, President Obama again called on Congress to do something about these mass public shootings. But the dirty secret about the four different bills that the Senate will vote on Monday is that everyone knows that none of them would have stopped the Orlando massacre. Indeed, none of the bills would have stopped any of the mass public shootings since at least 2000.

Everyone wants to do something to stop these attacks, but the one thing that we know does matter — ending gun-free zones – are being completely ignored in the legislation. Since at least as far back as 1950, all but three U.S. mass public shootings (with three or more fatalities) have occurred in places where citizens are not allowed to carry their own firearms. Time after time these killers explicitly pick targets where victims can’t defend themselves.

Democrats use recent attacks to justify passing new gun control, but their proposals have nothing to do with these attacks. Senator Dianne Feinstein’s (D-Calif.) bill would ban people on the No Fly list from buying guns. But neither Omar Mateen, the Orlando nightclub shooter, nor any of the other Islamic terrorists from Fort Hood to San Bernardino were on the terror watch or No Fly lists. While Senator Chris Murphy’s (D-Conn.) bill would require background checks on transfer of guns between private parties, this is also completely unrelated to past mass public shootings.”
