  2. Good morning! Good night! Good hours, to all!

    I have been capturing the unfolding of spring in my yard. All the little details of change are beautiful thanks to God♡

    Art and I are heading to his doctor’s appointment this morning. We need to celebrate survival through another tax season. I have not told him that the car was not fixed properly. I will tell him on the way. Or maybe not if he does not notice. Why spoil a good ride to the doctor’s office? Did I recently say, “It’s always something?”

  4. I am spending the morning in the office with the ladies where I am interviewing.
    Last night I had the worst dream. It was worse than scary for the Adult Child of an Alcoholic.
    I dreamed I had been flown to another city as the final candidate in a job interview process. Everything went really well until that night when some people wanted to go out. I woke up the next morning to a woman telling me that I drank SIX beers and proceeded to tell everyone what I really thought and that some other people had videoed it. I kept telling her it was impossible that I have a fast and firm two drink limit. She kept shaking her head, telling me that last night I didn’t.
    This feeds off of something that really did happen to me a long time ago. At a company Christmas party I had ONE beer before the party with my outside sales rep. He had a pre-party in his room at the hotel. We then all went downstairs to the party and all I remember was looking at my watch and it being 8:10pm. The office lech was talking to my breasts and I said excuse me Frank I have to find G (my husband). The next think I remember it was 2am. I was home in bed on the wrong side. I started to stir and G told me, “Don’t worry I got you out before you embarrassed yourself and there is a trash can beside the bed”.
    It wasn’t until a long time later that I finally figured out someone, probably my outside rep, had slipped something into my drink. Back then things like that weren’t that well known.

    Sooooo…..if you are wondering. All I have had this morning is coffee with a little Sweet Cream Bliss in it and a protein bar.

  6. Awaken to a couple more inches of snow…pine branches are heavy laden and we need some melting action before we begin to see some breakage! There are some low hanging pine boughs out there…..
    Nice photos of Spring Janice!! Is that a fern?

  7. Yes, good, sharp photos … Made me think of all the corn fields in Iowa. 🙂 Row after row after row after row …

    Amazingly my rose bushes survived years of neglect and have been reborn. As part of the scorched-earth tree trimming in the fall, the gardeners trimmed them down to nothing. And thanks to the rain we finally got this year, they are now just bursting forth with big, fat, colorful roses, I need to cut some to put in a vase for the table.

  9. Donna, if you keep the roses pruned they will continue to bloom and bloom and bloom. I think you cut just above or just below the first 5 leaf stem. It’s been a while.

  10. The office ladies were very kind and gracious. All of them have been with the company for a long time and worked together for a long time. I would be the complete newcomer, as would anyone taking this position. I do know the owner was interviewing another woman today. I think I have just about made up my mind to take the position if it is offered to me. It’s in God’s hands now. It will either work out or it won’t.

  11. Miraculously, or it seemed that way, the door open indicator light was off and the key fob worked to lock the car door. Just another weird thing, but I will take it!

    I have transplanted ferns from near my parent ‘ s last home, where my brother lives, and also from a friend’s wooded area near a river. I love the ferns, and our yard has good conditions for them.
    I had baskets of ferns at our wedding, and tried to grow them inside but could not succeed with them over the long haul. They are spreading in the yard. All our rain has helped.

  12. Yes, pruning. And watering.

    But as I said, they were neglected. 😦

    I figured they were goners.

    But here they are, back in full bloom. They are resilient (which plants have to be in my yard). 🙂

  13. Our hot, dry desert weather is supposed to break today (it already feels MUCH cooler this morning) as our on-shore ocean breeze & marine layer returns to beat those horrible dry winds back to where they belong.

    That hot-blast dry wind just kills your sinuses and skin.

  14. I have started doing some of the grocery shopping.
    You learn some things that you haven’t thought about. I understand now how it is with women shopping.
    I stopped by Harris teeter for some milk, juice, cereal and a couple of other things.
    $50.87 !
    Now I know why she wouldn’t step inside a store with less than $100.

  16. I go to a wonderful store. It is within easy walking distance, it is open twenty four hours a day/ seven days per week. It is always very well stocked, rarely do I have to ask for something to be brought in. And everything is free. They don’t take coupons though.

We had such a warm week preceding the big snow that I did spy some green alongside the walkway in front….my tansy, lillies, and lemon thyme were showing signs of life…it’s hidden beneath two feet of snow now….hoping they are being protected under there from the fridged temps we are having….oh, and I saw buds on my lilac bushes last week….they probably won’t blossom this year 😦
    Praying for your decision Kim….change is difficult for many, me included. I’ve been having bouts of crying over the unknown once my husband retires…it makes no sense to me, yet he is adamant….I just keep saying over and over in my mind..but but but what if what if what if….all the while knowing….it is in HIS Hands……

  18. And what if your life IMPROVES when he retires? What if God works a glorious work BECAUSE he retired?

    I’ve been trying to turn the prism on my own fears the last year or so for this very reason– this Sicilian always goes negative first and it doesn’t help.

  19. Art did not tell me that he is working from home today. I am glad, but had not planned for it. My brother is on the phone with me while I am writing this. Good reason to have a speaker phone. Brother has been having some interviews which is good.

  21. Kim she would have had coupons and known what was on sale. I don’t know how to read the price of items.
    i.e The store has an item “4 for $10.00”. I only want one for $2.50.
    I wasn’t sure I could do that.

  23. We are home again today–most schools and many businesses are closed due to widespread flooding. Our neighborhood didn’t have too much damage, but subdivisions near us did. We finally got power back yesterday around one.

  24. Speaking of ferns. . .I once killed an air fern.

    That’s why I don’t keep plants in the house. 🙂

    I don’t garden, either. But my mom had a wonderful green thumb, inside & outside.

  25. I see in World tyhat a woman was locked inside a restroom in a library over the weekend.
    That confuses me. I thought you could always get out.
    Buildings, freezer lockers, whatever. I thought you could always get out.
    Should be required.

  30. I spoke too soon this morning, our scorching, dry heat is lingering for yet another day.

    Funny comment I spotted on fb from a former colleague who said she and her husband have reached a new milestone in parenting as their kids enter that lovely adolescence phase:

    “(husband) was ordained ‘The Worst Dad Ever’ and I was deleted from iPad contacts”
