Prayer Requests 4-13-16

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget to pray for The Gambia, and for Ajisuun as well.

Anyone else?

Psalm 2

¹Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying,

Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.

10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

11 Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

  1. Thanks for your prayers. We had a very special prayer time at the beginning of our day. One by one several children came to the front and sat in a chair. I prayed for them while the other children rested a hand on them. We ended with our sorrowful girl and then gave her hugs. The rest of the day went well. The father of the twins made it out of the village and home to his children.

  2. Please pray for things to go well for Art during the final days of this tax season. Also that his foot will heal. Also, need prayers for safety and a pleasant time at the women’s conference with good health for me and the older lady who will be with me. She is so looking forward to this trip.

  3. Stargazer has a phone interview in the next couple days (he’s scrambling to find out info on company); A has a D&C on Friday.

I’m finally going to get my contract soon but have to decide in the next couple hours how long the book will be (I’m 2/3 done). What do you think? 65K words? 🙂

  4. 65K sounds like a good number, Michelle. Or less, since I think the trend is toward shorter reads these days. Thank God for His goodness in providing contracts for writers!♡

  5. Prayers, please, for a woman named Nancy (my audiologist’s sister) who has been in ICU in serious condition for several weeks after open-heart surgery did not go well. Also for my audiologist, Brian, who is the one making decisions about her care. (For salvation for both, too, please.)

And for the daughter of my friend Ruthie, who has been having great trouble with her asthma for several days (or longer). They have tried “everything” that has been prescribed or suggested, & Mandy is still having trouble breathing. A scary thing for both mother & daughter.

    Thank you.

  6. Janice, I don’t know that the trend is shorter with stories-based-on-life (memoir and fiction based on fact). I could be wrong, but I don’t see it in my own reading.

For me personally a book that’s much under 200 pages usually feels a little bit like the author was cheating. But life-based works really do seem to run the gamut, with 300 pages as a more common minimum page count, from what I’ve seen. (Though I read more actual biography and memoir than fiction based on fact.)
