  1. Tychicus, I did read that BBC article on trafficking. Still wondering how we can address the needs. I have thought, as our children move on, making our home available for those wanting to get their lives back but wonder if there would be an interest this far out of everywhere. One thing about this place, all of the children have said it makes them feel safe.

I do tell my children about the plight of these women and children and warn them that that is another good reason to stay away from porn and prostitutes. And warn them about the dangers of believing strangers on the internet.

  2. I like to read 538, which is Nate Silver’s site. It is mainly for nerds, with lots of statistical analysis. This article is a good analysis of what will go on before and at the convention..

    Our assignments are clear:
    1. Prevent Bozo Mussolini from obtaining the Nomination.
    2. Win the General election with whatever candidate (other than Bozo) emerges from the convention.

  3. The convention won’t be boring, probably guaranteed gavel to gavel coverage for the first time in many years

My gut tells me Trump won’t be the nominee.

  4. mumsee: Part of our team here in the Czech Republic works in an anti-trafficking ministry in Prague. They use gifts for the ladies to be able to gain entrance into the night clubs. Team members aren’t actually allowed to provide shelter for the women – they can only point them to the state agency that exists for that purpose (and the contact address is hidden in the gifts, along with Bible verses).

I imagine that your home could eventually be a “haven of rest”/transition place for some of the victims. It seems that it would be important to have a good connection with a trustworthy anti-trafficking ministry.

  5. Shane comes on TCM in less than an hour. There was a time when Southern men shot “low down Yankee liars”. Now they vote for them in Republican primaries. Very sad.

In support of Chas’ position, consider this:

    1. About 50% of the people are Democrats, committed to sloth, abortion, socialism, perversion and “green” myths.

    2. About 40% of the other 50% are Trumpsters. Some of these are as amoral and liberal as their hero. I believe that others are just naive dupes. Certain pastors, university presidents and former candidates come to mind.

Nevertheless, it is clear that we need some sort of divine intervention.

  6. Mumsee I can see your home as a respite place. A place to just “be” and bask in the love and comfort there. It is a safe place away from so much and it could be a time of healing for them.

  7. I agree in general, and this downfall of America has been coming for a long time, accelerating in more recent decades. Not sure even the best leader (and I still don’t see any of those on the horizon, though one may emerge yet) can fix that.

  8. Whoa, fringe AND black and white dog (and 2nd dog!). And a silver concha belt. Awesome.

    I love cowboys.

My girlfriend in high school loved this movie, I think she had a crush on one of the actors in it even though it a kind of old even then.

  9. Oh, yeah, 1953. *Almost* 20 years old when we were in high school.

Kim will be glad to know I saw my first-ever Jim Webb for President bumper sticker today. It happens when you travel more than 100 miles of bumper-to-bumper LA/Hollywood/Eastside/beach city freeways. You see just about everything and anything.

  10. Sorry, Chas. You have to get YouTube. Fortunately, it is free. Then you can watch the video on YouTube. YouTube has scenes from old movies, complete old movies and many songs, including a few by Anita Carter.

  11. This is exactly what was predicted would happen if/when the Supreme Court made its ruling on same sex marriage.

    http://www.wnd.com/2016/04/prof-defies-catholic-universitys-order-to-apologize/

“Professor John McAdams of Marquette University is responding defiantly to the nominally Catholic university’s threat to fire him if he does not make an apology for saying students have the right to defend traditional marriage.”

“Gallups argues the persecution of Christians isn’t some inadvertent side effect of the campaign for same-sex marriage, but was the objective all along for homosexual rights campaigners.

“This kind of targeting and marginalizing of the ‘intolerant’ was the plan of the radical gay agenda all along. The issue of so-called gay marriage was never only about ‘being with the one you love.’ No, the agenda of the radical gays was ultimately to use the ruling as a judicial weapon against what most of the radicals hate most – the Word of God and the people of God. These two things have long thwarted the efforts of the godless, leftist, and radical agenda.””

  12. I got a message when i clicked on the video to watch it on youtube — then you just click on that message and it’ll take you there.

Wisconsin on Tuesday. We’ll see if Trump is sinking. Polls showing him losing (and badly) to either Hillary or Bernie are motivating the GOP to quickly figure out a Plan B.

  13. Mumsee nailed it. That’s a perfect analogy for this election — it’s like the fun house at a carnival.

Everything’s distorted and you feel like you’re about to throw up at any moment. 🙂
