Lots of deaths among our circles. 2.5 pages of obits in the paper yesterday; a funeral every weekend at our church in January and a heartbreaker over the weekend.
As our friends grieve their father, they were not without hope. Since he moved in with this couple and their small children after the grim death of his wife, he became interested in the God in whose churches he hat sat unmoved his entire life.
He started attending BSF with his Cal-tech grad son and began searching the Bible. Our church loves his kids, and we embraced him. For the first time in his life, he understood the fellowship of believers and the love of a church family.
He blossomed.
And when Glenn died of a terrible rare brain infection Saturday night, we mourned and yet gave glory–Jesus comforted and sustained him through it all.
Needing prayers for energy today. I woke up with a cold in the night and couldn’t go back to sleep. Time to get ready for school and I am ready for bed again. Taking zicam.
I just received an email with bad news on our church prayer chain. A very confused teenage girl from our church was found by her mother a little while ago unresponsive and bleeding from the mouth. She is on her way to the hospital now via ambulance. Deanna has several mental and physical disabilities, and is a difficult and defiant young lady, so there are a lot of possible reasons. They desperately need prayer. Thanks.
The needs on earth are so great and overwhelming to humans. We, who know to turn to You, are so blessed that Your people and Your word have taught us that we are to look to You for help for ourselves and others. So many of us gather around the requests here lifting them up in mind, on our lists, by journaling, and by sharing at times with others in our prayer circles. Thank You that we know our prayers do not hit a wall but that they are heard and attended to by You and those under Your authority. You are awesome as You give guidance and direction as to the best way to proceed when we need to take action. Thank You for shutting doors to things that are not the best answers. Thank You for the many who have gone before us, sometimes people we have no clue about who have prayed over our generation. How blessed we have been by faithful servants in the past.
Lord, I pray for those among us who are not feeling well today, Jo, Mumsee, Michelle, and any others. Please help their bodies to fight off any virus or anything that has weakened their bodies for a bit. Please revive their energy levels and help them to remain positive while recouperating. Also, please help Annms’ s daughters with each of their aches. May just the proper treatment be prescribed for their needs. And help all those like AJ who may have muscle aches and soreness from shoveling snow. Thank You for easing pains and stress to these bodies. And that teenage girl that was found bleeding…I lift her up, to You for You alone know ALL the details about what goes on with those who may be reluctant to, share what has put them in a harmful situation.
Please comfort all those who are sad and grieving deaths in the past month and during the holidays. May You find special ways to love them through these hurting days.
Please be a force in the lives of those who do not accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. I pray whatever it takes that You will overcome their resistance. You know the ones on the hearts of all who frequent here. The waiting seems so long, but we know all things are possible in Christ so we do not lose hope. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen
Deanna (the young lady in comment 3) appears to have had some type of seizure. As a result she bit her tongue, which explains the unresponsiveness and blood from the mouth. She is at the hospital and talking. They’re gonna run a CT scan and some tests to determine more.

Some good news, hopefully.

Thanks for your prayers. I made it through the day, even though my aide was out sick and now I am home and ready for a nap.
