  1. I’m sure the Obama admin will be rounding them up for deportation any minute now….. 🙄

And this is only a years worth. In Obama’s 8 years of refusing to enforce our laws, the numbers are in the millions. Add in the millions from the southern border and you have the recipe for destroying a country, which has always been his goal.

    http://freebeacon.com/national-security/dhs-more-than-half-a-million-aliens-overstayed-visas-in-2015/

“More than half a million aliens overstayed their temporary visas in the United States in 2015, with more than 482,000 of those individuals believed to be still residing illegally in the United States, according to a new report by the Department of Homeland Security.

Around 527,127 aliens temporally granted U.S. business and tourist visas were found to have stayed in the United States longer than legally permitted, according to DHS’s 2015 entry and exit overstay report.

Of those who did not leave the United States on time, around 482,781 are believed to still be illegally residing in the United States, according to the report, which was issued by DHS amid debate in Congress over an Obama administration initiative to permit around 170,000 new immigrants from Muslim-majority nations in 2016.

Senior Obama administration officials had trouble in the past year informing Congress about the number of individuals who had overstayed their visas. The administration also could not provide Congress with statistics about the number of Syrian refugees who had been granted residency in the United States in 2015.”

  2. Obama is still stalling the Fast and Furious investigation. A judge is trying to do something about it, but the obstruction will continue, at least until he leaves office.

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/01/19/judge-rules-against-justice-dept-in-fast-and-furious-fight.html

“A federal judge has rejected the Justice Department’s claim of executive privilege used to withhold documents tied to the Fast and Furious “gun-walking” scandal from release to a congressional committee.

House Republicans subpoenaed thousands of emails related to the operation and sued in federal court to obtain them.

In her decision on Tuesday, Judge Amy Berman Jackson rejected the department’s blanket assertion of executive privilege, saying much of the withheld information had already been disclosed through other channels.”

And oh look, guess what they found at “El Chapo’s” house…. 🙄

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/01/20/rifle-capable-taking-down-helicopter-found-at-el-chapo-hideout-purchased-through-fast-and-furious-program.html

“A .50-caliber rifle found at Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman’s hideout in Mexico was funneled through the gun-smuggling investigation known as Fast and Furious, sources confirmed Tuesday to Fox News.

A .50-caliber is a massive rifle that can stop a car or, as it was intended, take down a helicopter.

After the raid on Jan. 8 in the city of Los Mochis that killed five of his men and wounded one Mexican marine, officials found a number of weapons inside the house where Guzman was staying, including the rifle, officials said.

When agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives checked serial numbers of the eight weapons found in his possession, they found one of the two .50-caliber weapons traced back to the ATF program, sources said.

Federal officials told Fox News they are not sure how many of the weapons seized from Guzman’s house actually originated in the U.S. and where they were purchased, but are investigating.

Out of the roughly 2,000 weapons sold through Fast and Furious, 34 were .50-caliber rifles that can take down a helicopter, according to officials.

Federal law enforcement sources told Fox News that ‘El Chapo’ would put his guardsmen on hilltops to be on guard for Mexican police helicopters that would fly through valleys conducting raids. The sole purpose of the guardsmen would be to shoot down those helicopters, sources said.”

    CONTENT WARNING!!!!!!!

    http://www.frontpagemag.com/point/261527/islamic-state-has-3500-sex-slaves-daniel-greenfield

“Slavery under Islam dates back to Mohammed. It was interrupted by European efforts from British and French authorities during the colonial period, which also provided non-Muslims, such as Christians and Jews with the equal rights denied to them by Islam, and later by American pressure, which forced the Saudis to officially abolish slavery in 1962, though unofficially the practice continues.

The Islamic State has officially brought back slavery in a very big way.

The new UN report states that, “The number of people currently being held in slavery by ISIL numbers approximately 3,500. Those being held are predominantly women and children and come primarily from the Yezidi community, but a number are also from other ethnic and religious minority communities.”

That means non-Muslims. For the most part this is about rape since the majority of slaves are women and children, not young men. ISIS has been known to murder elderly non-Muslim women.”

“A moderate Muslim theology professor of Al-Azhar recently explained that the purpose of raping non-Muslim women is to degrade non-Muslims.

“The female prisoners of wars are ‘those whom you own.’ In order to humiliate them, they become the property of the army commander, or of a Muslim, and he can have sex with them just like he has sex with his wives.”

Humiliating non-Muslims is the essence of Islam. When Muslims shout Allahu Akbar, they are declaring the truth of Islam and inferiority of non-Muslims through warfare. By degrading non-Muslims, Muslims prove that Allah is superior.

Rape is how Muslims worship Allah since the days of Mohammed.”

And as recent events in Germany and the UK have shown, this isn’t just an ISIS thing. This is an Islam thing.

  4. I heard Trump and Palin speaking on the radio in the car last night driving home. Yikes. It almost made me cry.

How exactly did we get here in a year that was supposed to be a slam-dunk for (serious) conservatives?

Sure hope something better rises to the surface before this summer.

  5. Okay, this is from the “Progressive Channel” of Patheos, but has, I think, some good points. (And he really isn’t against faith-based voting, just a certain kind.)

“At the same time– it’s not entirely his fault. It is a ridiculous litmus test, truly, to demand any candidate for the presidency declare a particular brand of faith, articulated in a certain secular language, and with the correct parameters of ideology as framework. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again–if this is a requirement of political office in this country, then we are just begging to be lied to. If the only way to power is by way of a narrow, culturally prescribed system of belief, then a whole lot of people are suddenly going to “believe.” If our pool of candidates is suddenly full of phonies, hypocrites, and “two Corinthians,” then we have only ourselves to blame. Or rather, we can blame a national rhetoric that glorifies buzz words, sound bites and entertainment value bullying at the expense of authenticity.

I could care less if our next president is Christian. But if that’s what you’re after, then for the love, ask some harder questions than “how are you going to protect my personal rights and freedoms” and “do you proclaim Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior.” First of all, those two realities are mutually exclusive–and if you don’t know why, I can’t tell you. Furthermore, making spoken belief the key requirement for candidacy sets the stage for people like Trump to come in and pretend to be everything you’re looking for. It’s not a tough bill to fill when it’s so narrowly prescribed.”

One thing I would say, though, is that our concern for rights & freedoms is not for ourselves only, but for all Americans, & protecting those is one way of loving our neighbors.

  6. I think it’s entirely possible for a candidate to embrace the ethics and values of the Judeo-Christian heritage — and, with that, an understanding of religious liberty FOR ALL — without being a believer.

BTW, I’ve read recently that “2” Corinthians is actually a more common way to phrase it in England — and since Trump’s mother was Scottish, that could explain his wording in the recent speech.

My sense that he’s not a believer (though no one can say that for certain, we can’t know one another’s hearts) really comes from his past interviews and statements on the topic. From what I’ve seen & heard so far, there’s just very little evidence of a saving faith, although he, indeed, claims to have it. He seems to have a misunderstanding of what the gospel even is (being a “good” person, which he is, don’t you know! 🙂 )

But, frankly, I’m not entirely sure Ronald Reagan was a believer either.

I’m afraid that candidate “faith” issues are becoming a distraction right now, unfortunately.

  7. Kind of unrelated, but weird (and, in one case, sicko-criminal) Christians popped up last night in the episodes of Criminal Minds & Code Black.

    Law&Order perfected those villains. 😦

Frustrating, but always an eye-opener to see how Christianity is so easily and frequently vilified in the entertainment industry. Hardly ever a Muslim villain, however. 😉

  8. Dennis Prager had some interesting comments this morning regarding Trump (whom he does not support but said he would vote for should he wind up being the nominee — only because he feels another 4 years, which potentially could include numerous Supreme Court nominations, would be disastrous under “the left”).

He said (and I think he’s right) that he doubts Trump has ever even thought through the big political issues — adding that Trump is not now (nor hasn’t been) a conservative. He’s been a successful businessman, he knows how to make money and make deals. But Prager thinks he likely doesn’t quite understand what being a conservative even is, in terms of having that as a foundation from which to think through major issues. He also doesn’t think he’s be likely t nominate conservatives to the high court, but I guess Prager feels the alternative — if the election is between Trump & Clinton and/or Sanders — would be so, so much worse for the country).

I think voting for Trump would be a real roll of the dice. Right now, I don’t think I could do it.

But I don’t know how things will look to me if the choice boils down to another far left president vs. Trump. 😦 😦

“The Navy is throwing gender-specific titles overboard.

In an effort to be more inclusive for the female sailors within their ranks, the U.S. Navy has announced that they will make titles and descriptions gender neutral.

The change would alter the more than 20 Navy titles that currently refer to ‘men’ in their name, including “midshipman,” a title that dates back to the 1600s, predating the formation of the Naval Academy in Annapolis in 1845.

The Navy decided to drop the gender-specific titles to “ensure they were representative of all sailors and did not discriminate based on gender,” a Navy said in a statement.

A report with alternative title suggestions is due by April 1, Navy Secretary Ray Mabus told The Navy Times last week.”

“Judicial Watch announced today that it has obtained records from the U.S. Department of the Air Force revealing that the October 2015 Columbus Day getaway enjoyed by President Barack Obama and his family cost taxpayers $969,783.90 in flight expenses alone. The documents regarding the Obama travel expenses came in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request first filed on October 13, 2015.

According to the newly released records obtained by Judicial Watch, the Obama family’s October 11 flight from Los Angeles, where he had attended three high-dollar fundraisers, to San Diego, and then from San Diego back to Washington on October 12, required a total of 4.7 hours of flying time at $206,337 per hour. That brought the total flight cost to taxpayers to $969,783.90. The records do not include the flight time to travel from Washington, DC, to Los Angeles (through Oregon, Seattle, and San Francisco), nor the Secret Service costs or other expenses. Previously released documents show the flight time from Washington to Los Angeles to be five hours, which safely adds $1,031,685 and brings the known total to expense to $2,001,468.90.

According to press reports, Obama and his family spent their getaway weekend in San Diego at the luxurious Rancho Santa Fe resort community. With an estimated median income of $188, 859, Rancho Santa Fe is one of the highest income communities in the United States. According to the Rancho Santa Fe website, it boasts “one of the storied private golf courses in California,” with “one of the finest walkable designs in the world” where “you and your friends will cherish the memorable times.” Sure enough, President Obama reportedly spent several hours golfing.”

  13. My opinion? Most military people simply don’t care. They have more important things to waste their time on like–keeping America safe for democracy or hunting for the marines lost off the coast of Hawai’i.

We just reread Unbroken in the last week and watched the movie–particularly the interview with Louie Z and his friends and family. The world looked very different when we were clawing for our survival in a world war. 😦

  14. and this was interesting about Sarah Palin and what the heck happened to her … From S.E. Cupp

    http://www.nydailynews.com/opinion/s-e-cupp-sarah-palin-article-1.2502304

… In the past, (Trump) called himself “very pro-choice.” Yet Palin — who made the very courageous and compassionate decision to have a baby she knew would be disabled — is unbothered.

On guns, he once supported a ban on so-called assault weapons and longer waiting periods to purchase a firearm. That should be deeply disconcerting to Palin, a Second Amendment firebrand who once said, “If you control arms, you control the people.”

And Trump has supported universal health care — expressing admiration for Scotland’s single-payer system as recently as last year. Palin spent years denouncing Obamacare, which is many steps short of a single-payer plan, as “socialized medicine.”

These aren’t minor policy differences. The beliefs long embraced by Palin and long eschewed by Trump are fundamental to conservatism. That Trump has suddenly gotten religion — on issue after issue — should be met by Palin with suspicion. …

…. The Sarah Palin I knew in 2008 — the one who campaigned tirelessly and many times thanklessly for John McCain, a war veteran Trump has openly mocked — would have seen through Trump’s charlatan candidacy. The Sarah Palin I knew in 2008, a devout Christian whose faith was constantly scrutinized by the secular left, would have no affection for a man who is constantly scrutinizing the devout Christian faiths of other conservative candidates.

The Sarah Palin I knew in 2008, who was a passionate and fearless voice for hockey moms, mama grizzlies and women everywhere, all while enduring patently sexist attacks from the left, wouldn’t have supported a man who calls other women bimbos and slobs, thinks women who breast-feed and go to the bathroom are “disgusting,” and criticizes another candidate for her looks.

That Sarah Palin is gone. Maybe one day, over a beer, she’ll tell me why.

  15. If I had to guess, I’d say do to her treatment since running for VP. She’s been vilified by the left and the R establishment types who like to pile on, tirelessly since then. That’s gotta take a toll. I think by supporting Trump, it’s meant as a thumb in the eye to both those camps. I think she’s lookin’ for a little payback. After what she and her family’s been thru for the last 8 years, it’s a perfectly understandable response.

Actors Harry Belafonte, Kerry Washington and Jane Fonda, filmmaker Jonathan Demme and intellectual Noam Chomsky are among those lending their support to the drive to prevent Donald Trump getting into the White House.

  17. After ’08, a few of us were watching Palin carefully to see if she would rise to the level of becoming presidential material in the future.

From her abrupt resignation of the governorship to what seemed like a pursuit of the TV spotlight (without a lot of depth in what she said), we lost hope. She sounded more and more shrill and seemed to turn into a caricature of herself, playing into her detractors’ hands all too often. 😦

I loved her convention speech and persona in ’08 and I still think she gave McCain the best shot he had that year. But she was one of those politicians who lost stature (rapidly) the more I saw of her, unfortunately.

  18. I really hoped she’d be a contender, but she seemed to fall into the celebrity trap, spending too much time making speeches and coming off sounding not very substantial, I’m afraid.

She should have stayed in the governor’s seat and weighed her next-step option (like running for the Senate or the House to get some international experience and knowledge?).

I expected her to get busy cultivating a more serious national reputation.
