I see where Iran released the 10 sailors — but is now “demanding” an apology from the U.S.

Maybe Kerry can bring James Taylor in for an encore performance.
All of which makes the president’s remarks from last night — about how strong the U.S. is, about how we’re more respected now around the world than we were when he took office and how we’re still, hands down, the nation everyone looks to in for world leadership — sound so delusional

Something to think about, at the time of our revolution the British government’s approval rating was between 15 and 20%, more than double our congress’ current approval rating (7%). Approval ratings for the other two branches are also at-or-near all-time lows (POTUS: 29%; SCOTUS: 30%).
‘Consent of the governed’ is a founding principle upon which our government was built. The Preamble to the Constitution begins with three simple words – ‘We the People’. Our elected officials seem to have lost sight of this principle. Their predecessors modified our political system by granting salaries, retirement plans, and healthcare programs to enrich and enshrine-for-life those few elected to office. They exempted themselves from insider trading laws, changed the election process to favor incumbents, and created a convoluted legislative process behind which they hide. Most seem to care more about their ‘political careers’ than they do about us – or our country.
Our founders wanted ‘Citizen Statesmen’ not ‘career politicians’. They provided a per diem for each day of service – no salary, retirement, or healthcare. It was considered an honor to serve. Over the past 100 years the average time-in-office has more than doubled for congressmen and nearly doubled for senators.
American’s are losing faith with our government because our elected officials have lost respect for us. ‘We the People’ need to demand a return to our constitutional past for elected officials, or term limits to dismantle the ruling class. King George did not respect us either – how did that work out for him?

What have we Christians of the United States done to deserve our President? Give us wisdom to figure it out. Guide us your answers and give us the ways to respond. We ask for your will to be done.
Global warming caused by fossil fuel emissions is blamed by scientists for intensifying storms, raising sea levels and prolonging droughts. Now there’s growing evidence of a positive effect: we may have delayed the next ice age by 100,000 years or more.
Liberal I know on FB is trying to say the Iranian ship seizure was a humanitarian ‘rescue’ of our sailors. He didn’t explain why exactly they were forced to kneel as they were arrested at gunpoint 🙂
