So you know it’ll be all about him. Over/under on how many times he says “I” – 100 times, at least.
Well, I should say mostly about him…. He’ll also spend a lot of time on gun control and telling us how great muslims are. Dems are gonna pack the place with “victims” and muslims. But of course, he won’t mention the victims of muslim gun violence. Doesn’t fit the narrative.
“Congress’s first Muslim member, Rep. Keith Ellison of Minnesota, and nine other Democrats are inviting Muslim guests to Tuesday’s State of the Union address to combat the anti-Muslim rhetoric of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and growing anti-Muslim sentiment in the electorate.
Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., said she’s helping to organize the effort because “leading political figures have made offensive and outrageous suggestions that we should create a national registry of all people of one particular faith and that we should prevent any person of that faith from even entering this great country.”
Rep. Mark Pocan, D-Wis., said Thursday he would follow suit to “show solidarity with the American-Muslim community at a time of escalating bigotry and discrimination.”

The senators have been trying to pry loose from the administration the immigration histories of those individuals, saying the public has a right to know how each of them entered the U.S. and what level of scrutiny they got.”
““We have now identified an additional 41 individuals, bringing the total to 113 individuals who have been implicated in Islamic terrorism in some manner since early 2014. Of these 113 individuals, at least 14 were initially admitted to the United States as refugees,” the two senators said.
Mr. Sessions, chairman of the Senate’s immigration subcommittee, and Mr. Cruz, one of the GOP’s leading presidential hopefuls, have been prodding the Homeland Security, State and Justice departments for information for months.”

And of course the Obama admin is stonewalling efforts to identify the terrorists.
“Leading senators on Monday petitioned multiple Obama administration agencies to stop stonewalling a congressional investigation into the immigration histories of at least 113 foreign-born individuals implicated in terrorist operations after legally entering the United States, according to a copy of the letters.
The latest investigation comes just days after the Washington Free Beacon disclosed that an additional 41 foreign-born individuals who legally entered the United States had been arrested for planning a number of terror attacks.
Sens. Ted Cruz (R., Texas) and Jeff Sessions (R., Ala.) disclosed Monday that they had been pressuring the Obama administration for months to disclose the immigration histories of these foreign-born individuals implicated in terror plots.
Agencies including the Departments of State and Homeland Security have stonewalled these efforts, declining since mid-2015 to provide Congress additional information. This move has prompted speculation among lawmakers that the administration is withholding information to prevent the exposure of major gaps in the U.S. screening process for new immigrants.
“The American people are entitled to information on the immigration history of terrorists seeking to harm them,” Cruz and Sessions wrote to the secretaries of State and Homeland Security and the attorney general.
Similar requests for information issued sent in August and again in December have not been answered by the administration.”
“Two officials from the Council on American-Islamic Relations will be attending the State of the Union address Tuesday as guests of Democratic lawmakers.
Reps. Zoe Lofgren (Calif.) and Alcee Hastings (Fla.) will both be hosting representatives from CAIR chapters in their respective states, the group announced Monday.
Lofgren will be bringing Sameena Usman, a government relations coordinator in the San Francisco office, while Hastings will host Nezar Hamze, the chief operating officer of the nonprofit’s Florida branch.”
Those speeches are insufferable — they come on out here at 6 p.m., right when it’s time to leave the newsroom, ready or not. 🙂 It’s more than I can bear to listen to those speeches.
And the president has been very disappointed in us, you know. We’ve been bad. He’s tried so hard with us, but all for naught. He’s frustrated. We’re an obstinate people.
