“On January 25th, 2006, while at the Sundance film festival, screening “An Inconvenient Truth”, Al Gore said this as chronicled in an article by CBS News:
The former vice president came to town for the premiere of “An Inconvenient Truth,” a documentary chronicling what has become his crusade since losing the 2000 presidential election: Educating the masses that global warming is about to toast our ecology and our way of life.
Gore has been saying it for decades, since a college class in the 1960s convinced him that greenhouse gases from oil, coal and other carbon emissions were trapping the sun’s heat in the atmosphere, resulting in a glacial meltdown that could flood much of the planet.
Americans have been hearing it for decades, wavering between belief and skepticism that it all may just be a natural part of Earth’s cyclical warming and cooling phases.
And politicians and corporations have been ignoring the issue for decades, to the point that unless drastic measures to reduce greenhouse gases are taken within the next 10 years, the world will reach a point of no return, Gore said.
He sees the situation as “a true planetary emergency.”
“If you accept the truth of that, then nothing else really matters that much,” Gore said in an interview with The Associated Press. “We have to organize quickly to come up with a coherent and really strong response, and that’s what I’m devoting myself to.”
Well, the 10 years are about up, by now, warming should have reached “planetary emergency levels”
Presidential candidates are in an all-out sprint in Iowa with the caucuses only 30 days away.
Campaigns are sharpening their attacks, doubling down on time and resources spent in the state, and placing their final bets on the ad buys and infrastructure they hope will bolster their get-out-the-vote efforts.

Some particularly interesting comments at about the 43-minute mark regarding immigration, America’s role and uniqueness, the intellectual poverty of ‘political correctness’
Interesting, wasn’t it? I hoped you’d see it as I know you and Idaho Mike have been following this issue. Good to hear a voice of reason and intelligence on the topic.
And I appreciated the calm, thoughtful and intelligent tenor of Bill Kristol’s questions to her, too — and his ability to be a good listener (I’m used to today’s popular yellers and screamers like Bill O’Reilly I guess, ugh).
I enjoyed that. Articulate, poised, experienced, and quiet. That is the kind of show my dad watches and I had thought of forwarding the piece to him and to eldest son, but toward the end, it mentioned being from Fox and that will turn them both away. I will explain it is from a sane person in California. They won’t believe me, but I will try.
This one needs background music. 🙂
So hit play and read away.
Not to alarm anyone…..
But it’s time to…..
You’ve been warned……
Only 24 days left until the end of the…. something.

And they wonder why people are skeptical about global warming …
All the hysteria, just too much.
It’s all become a political and commercial boondoggle.

Fascinating interview about Islam, “radicalization,” etc. About an hour long.

Times not up yet Anon. 22 mare days, then we’re gone.
I see on TV that the State Department is urging Iran and Saudi Arabia to reduce tensions.
Iran and Arabia said, OK if you say so.”
I should go Anon too. Nobody will ever believe me again.
